UTTOXETER
Race 2 No7 GLENGOLLY (Nap)
Trainer: Billy Aprahamian – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan
GLENGOLLY had been unable to produce his true form but that was corrected by a breathing operation, which did much to bring about his resounding Hereford success where he looked a different horse. The six-year-old races on better ground today and from a higher mark, but as long as the surgery works for him again he should follow-up.
Race 6 No5 EXPRESS SURPRISE (Each Way)
Trainer: Clive Boultbee-Brooks – Jockey: Richard Patrick
In the most competitive race on this card, EXPRESS SURPRISE can get into the argument. He’s won twice and been placed twice on just five outings over fences and comes over as a horse with scope for further progression. His Wetherby triumph was gained in the manner of a real stayer, and that element of his armoury should come into play if they go a good gallop.
Race 7 No8 MILLSTATT ABBEY
Trainer: Noel Williams – Jockey: Jonathan Burke
In the colours of the Noel Fehily Racing Club who tend to provide this trainer with a good mare, it could be worth siding with MILLSTATT ABBEY. The filly by Order Of St George finished second in her only run in a point, while her former trainer is a regular source of good horses to the trainers the Club use here.
WARWICK
Race 4 No7 PESCATORIUS
Trainer; Rob Summers – Jockey: Beau Morgan
After taking a long time to put his head in front PESCATORIUS has excelled for his current handler with figures of 3211. His successes at Sedgefield and Market Rasen have been accompanied by strong market support, and he’s been found a good opportunity to nail the hat-trick.
Race 5 No5 SEETOIT
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy
SEETOIT shaped promisingly when finding only one to beat him on seasonal return at Ffos Las and has enjoyed a subsequent break. The fact that he’s been selectively campaigned suggests he’s not a straightforward horse to train, but this step up to three and a quarter miles will play to his strengths.
Race 6 No4 STICK WITH ME SAM (Nap)
Trainer: Tom Gretton – Jockey: Robbie Dunne
STICK WITH ME SAM comes here with his tail up after gaining a first career win 8n heavy conditions at Hexham. That convincing display on a second start following a breathing operation indicates he’s firmly in the zone, and if turning up in similar mood he’s the best bet on this card.
LINGFIELD PARK
Race 5 No3 TORITO (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: James Doyle
Gosden fields two of the five contenders for the featured Listed over a mile and quarter with TORITO preferred to Nebras. The Nap made the podium over this trip in an identical race at Newmarket only to find cutting back to a mile against him when disappointing at Kempton. However, that was also his first ever run on sand, and he’s learned from it.
Race 8 No10 PROFIT STREET
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Luke Morris
From a favourable slot in the gate PROFIT STREET can maintain a good streak of form to make it a second success in three starts this winter. After scoring at Wolverhampton he made a good fist of it when popular in the market a fortnight ago. He’s 5lb higher than for that success, but should again be in the shake-up.
