LOVING THE VICTORY ran a good race when finishing third over this C&D, four weeks ago. She set the pace that day and stayed on nicely at the finish. She is likely to adopt the same tactics this afternoon and S’manga Khumalo may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
Race 5: THEN IN FOCUS (1)

THEN IN FOCUS‘ last three starts have been good. He raced from a handy position over this C&D last time but was outrun late by Waiting For Summer. The tongue tie seems to have done the trick on the son of Visionaire and in this type of field, he can return to winning ways.
Race 6: PHEDRA (2)
Jockey: L Mxothwa – Trainer: S Kotzen
PHEDRA showed good speed in her last start over 1100m on this course, but was outrun late by Stolen Kiss. She was reported to have cast a shoe in running that day. The daughter of Vercingetorix won her only attempt over this C&D. She is likely to race on the speed once again and should be hard to peg back.

KHAYA’S HOPE is the best bet on the programme. He set the pace in the Sophomore Plate last time, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. The son of The United States jumps from a good draw of two and should notch up his fifth career victory.

Jockey: C Maujean – Trainer: S Kotzen
FIRST STREET finished 0.45 lengths behind JACOB’S LADDER last time. She is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She finished 1.6 lengths behind GRAZINGINTHEGRASS in her penultimate run and is 2kgs better off at the weights. There should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line. She has won four times and finished second once from seven starts over this C&D. Chase Maujean retains the ride and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.
