Williams has not made an announcement, and when the Today Show presenter Savannah Guthrie asked her if she’s returning to court last month, the 23-time grand slam champion said, “I mean, really, are you asking this on the Today Show? Oh, my goodness.

“Is that a no? I’m just having fun and enjoying my life right now. That’s not a yes or no. I don’t know. I’m just gonna see what happens. That’s not a ‘maybe’.

“I have two kids. I’m a full-time stay-at-home. When I filled out a form the other day. Occupation? Housewife.”

The 44-year-old’s last game was in 2022 September 2 where she lost in the third round of the US Open against Ajila Tomlijanic. Since then, she has been a full-time businesswoman, venture capitalist, and producer.

Recently, she partnered with the telehealth company Ro to launch a campaign promoting the use of GLP-1 medication for weight management.

Sharing her own journey of losing 31 pounds using the treatment. She received backlash after the Super Bowl Ad, which appeared promoting the drug.

Tennis player Holger Rune has come out defending Williams on X. He wrote,” Being overweight carries health risks, just like alcohol. Seeking help to overcome personal challenges is always the right thing to do.

“It’s great that Serena doesn’t make us believe everything happened overnight. She openly explains what she did to achieve her goals.

“There is no right or wrong here. Only what works for you. And no one should be judged or shamed for that.”
