Eala  beat by 6-4, 6-2 and has booked a spot in the last 16 of the Miami Open.

Falling in love with the tennis racket at the age of four, Eala has never looked back on pursuing her dreams of being a tennis champion.

She started competing in the WTA Future Stars event back in 2016 and 2017, where she later joined the Rafael Nadal Academy at the age of 13 in Mallorca.

Speaking on Tennis Channel Eala said the Academy is her second home where she spent 7 years sharping her skills.

“It’s my second him, I have good relationships with some of the people over there and they have helped me in my development an astronomical amount.”

She made her first debut at the WTA tour when she qualified for the 2021 Miami Open and in 2022, she secured her first title as the Junior Grand Slam Champion at the US Open.

The Philippines princess has also won five times at the ITF circuit while her previous best at a WTA 1000 tournament was a second-round appearance at the 2024 Madrid Open.

She is Unstoppable, her force not to be reckoned with runs in her DNA as her mother Rosemarie Maniego-Eala was a professional swimmer and won bronze ay the 1985 Southeast Asian Games , while her brother is following in his sister’s footsteps pursuing a career in the World of tennis.

On Monday Eala will take on Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals. Badosa has been having a tough time as she has been struggling with a lower back injury, earlier this month she had to withdraw from the Indian Wells and recently she had to call for medical attention during her second set match against Clara Tauson where she fought hard a won by 6 -3, 7-6 (3).

“Looking back, connecting the dots backward I was not ready at that time, It was God saying I was not ready now I have to believe I am because I have been given this opportunity, I worked hard for it and now I have to take advantage.”
