Gauff quickly took control and won most of the games. She returned serve very well and used her speed to reach many balls, which made it hard for Muchova to play her usual style.

Muchova struggled, especially on her second serve, and could not keep up with Gauff’s pressure.

Addressing the media on court, the 22-year-old said, “It feels great to be at home.

“Today I was able to find that good balance of mixing it up.

“When I stepped on court today, I felt like it was going to be a really strong match.

“I was just trying to fight for every point, and we ended up with the scoreline.”

Gauff will face Aryna Sabalenka, who thrashed Elena Rybakina in the semi-finals 6-4,6-3.

In the first set, 6–4, Sabalenka started strong and broke Rybakina’s serve. Both players hit powerful shots, but Sabalenka made fewer mistakes and stayed in control to take the set.

In the second set, 6–3, Sabalenka played even better. She took an early lead and kept putting pressure on Rybakina. Rybakina tried to fight back, but she made too many errors and could not catch up.

A Sabalenka and Gauff have played each other 12 times, and their head-to-head record is 6–6. Gauff has won the US Open 2023 final (2–6, 6–3, 6–2) and the French Open 2025 final (6–7, 6–2, 6–4). Sabalenka has won the Australian Open 2024 semifinal (7–6, 6–4) and the Madrid Open 2025 final (6–3, 7–6).
