The 24-time Grand Slam shared this news on a post on Twitter, which reads,” Dear Paris, unfortunately, I’ll not compete at this year’s @RolexPMasters.

“I have amazing memories and great success over the years, especially being able to conquer the title seven times. Hope to see you next year. Merci.”

On Saturday at Riyah, the 38-year-old withdrew from his third-place playoff match against Taylor Fritz as he lost his first set.

Although he has not voiced out why he has been falling short and stepping down from matches, it looks like the Serbian is battling injuries. A week before, Djokovic was knocked out of the Shanghai Masters in the semi-finals by Valentin Vacherot as he was battling injuries.

At the Shanghai Masters earlier this month, Djokovic revealed that he will not be attending the ATP tour events besides the Hellenic Championship in Athens.
Djokovic’s brother, Djordje, is the tournament Director of the Hellenic Championship and he has relocated the ATP 250 tennis event from Belgrade to Athens since moving there with his family.

“After Shanghai, the only tournament I know I’m going to play is the one in Athens. And then let’s see if I play Turin or not, I’m not sure yet,”

Djokovic has participated in 12 ATP Tour-level tournaments this year, including all four Grand Slams and the Nitto ATP Finals. He is currently ranked World No. 5.
