In the first set, Anisimova started strongly and broke Raducanu’s serve early to take a 2–0 lead. She continued hitting powerful groundstrokes and controlled most of the rallies, breaking Raducanu again to go 4–0. Raducanu managed to win only one game, and Anisimova comfortably won the set 6–1.

The second set followed a similar pattern. Anisimova again broke early and stayed aggressive, especially when returning Raducanu’s serve.

Raducanu tried to play more attacking tennis but made several errors under pressure. Anisimova broke serve again and finished the set 6–1, winning the match easily.

Addressing the media during the on-court interview, Raducanu said, “When I’m playing someone who’s at the top like that, I think they have an extra 10 miles an hour on their serve than me.

“If I’m not feeling it, that gap feels more evident in terms of weight of shot, in terms of power.

“You just feel a little bit behind and your punches aren’t landing as much as theirs are.

“I need to obviously be aggressive when playing those players, but I think there’s still a long way to go to be doing that and I need to use my strengths and probably mix it up a bit more.”

World No.6 Anisimova will now face Victoria Mboko. Anisimova and Mboko have not played against each other before on the WTA Tour. Their upcoming match will be the first meeting between the two players in competitive tennis.
