Tickets for Rugby World Cup 2027 are flying off the shelves, with more than 750,000 already snapped up in the opening sales window.
Next year’s expanded World Cup will feature 24 teams, 52 matches and a staggering 2.5 million tickets, and fans have wasted no time locking in their seats.
The sales pace is already outstripping previous tournaments, driven by huge interest during the Superfan and Presale phases.
More than half of all Presale tickets were sold in the first six hours, underlining just how strong demand is across both pool games and knockout clashes in all seven host cities.
Unsurprisingly, blockbuster fixtures have led the charge, with fans piling in for early match-ups like Australia v New Zealand, England v Wales and Ireland v Scotland, while the business end of the tournament is also drawing huge interest.
So far, supporters from 135 countries have secured tickets, highlighting the truly global pull of this World Cup. Aussie fans are out in front, but there’s also strong backing from traditional rugby nations – including plenty of interest from South Africa – alongside growing support for emerging teams like Hong Kong China and Zimbabwe, who will bring fresh energy and new storylines to the tournament.
Some of the top purchasing countries to date include Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, France and South Africa.
Rugby World Cup 2027 Managing Director Chris Stanley said the early surge was a huge sign of what’s to come, calling the 750,000-ticket mark “a significant milestone” with more than 18 months still to go before kick-off.
“The strong demand in every Host City and across the globe demonstrates the appetite for a truly international celebration of rugby. This tournament will bring communities together and welcome fans from across the globe to experience rugby at its very best.
“With the Presale now closed, fans are encouraged to register ahead of the Application Phase in May so they don’t miss out on all the ticketing news.”
