KEMPTON PARK
Race 3 No3 SARGENT DENNIS (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Rose Dawes
SARGENT DENNIS made a big step up on his first run when second in a Wolverhampton novice in which he tried to make all. The performance surprised his connections, but it’s done him the world of good, and from a favourable draw he can go one better.
WINDSOR
Race 3 No5 DECADE OF TIME (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Finley Marsh
Study Of Man colt DECADE OF TIME proved a real eye catcher when third on his Newbury introduction, when beaten by a couple of more experienced rivals. The form looks strong, while he’s worked well and should prove hard to beat.
Race 4 No1 CRAZEE ICON
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Jason Watson
CRAZEE ICON found the penny dropping too late when given plenty to do in a better race than this at the Newmarket Craven fixture. This drop in class, together with stepping up in trip, can combine to help the filly land the spoils.
BATH
Race 2 No12 SAYIDAH ARDAD
Trainer: Richard Hughes – Jockey: Tyler Heard
Few in the field have already run, including SAYIDAH ARDAD who is a speedily bred individual and well worth a market check against paper favourite TOP COTE.
Race 5 No4 TAKINCAREOFBIZNESS
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass
TAKINCAREOFBIZNESS finished behind Magnificent Mel at Nottingham but is strongly fancied to turn the tables. My selection enjoys a 4lb pull in the weights and has progressed from that second run of the season.
Race 7 No3 MALI STAR (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass
A gamble on MALI STAR over this course and distance came unstuck last month when he was short of room and couldn’t get going until it was too late. The gelding will be more streetwise, and has been found another weak race in which to try to open his account.
BEVERLEY
Race 2 No6 PONTE CARLO
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
There’s not much to go on form wise in this maiden over 1000 metres but PONTE CARLO is speedily bred, and I shall monitor how he travels in the betting.
Race 3 No3 LAKE MURITZ
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
From the same stable LAKE MURITZ brings good form to the table after finishing second in a Thirsk novice. Unconsidered in the betting, the filly is going to be a lot more streetwise and might well go one better.
Race 7 No9 LYRICAL SONG
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
LYRICAL SONG is 5lb higher than when scoring over the course and distance on her seasonal return. The Lope Y Fernandez gelding looks the best of three recent winners in the field and can follow-up.
FAKENHAM
Race 4 No5 KITTY’S LIGHT (Nap)
Trainer: Christian Williams – Jockey: Jack Tudor
KITTY’S LIGHT is a fascinating contender for this veterans’ chase, running for the first time since January 2025. The 2024 Bet365 Gold Cup winner is still young enough to do well in staying handicap chases, and if ready can outclass his opponents.
Race 5 No2 STANS THE MAN
Trainer: Ella Pickard – Jockey: Ben Godfrey
History can repeat itself in this feature Norfolk National with STANS THE MAN making it consecutive successes in the race. He’s been in good form through the spring with a win at Wincanton and good second at Plumpton a fortnight ago. With conditions in his favour he shouldn’t be far away.
WARWICK
Race 1 No2 CRYSTAL DAYS (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Ben Jones
One of the best bets over jumps is CRYSTAL DAYS who has troubled the judge in four of her five outings this season. Representing top connections, her chances will improve if she’s ridden from the front.
