NEWBURY

Race 1 No4 BAI TONG
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: Clifford Lee

BAI TONG has proved costly to follow but on this long journey from North Yorkshire is worth sticking with to recoup the losses from her first two outings. The daughter of Blue Point went off odds-on at both Thirsk and Ripon but didn’t get the best of runs through last time. This is a good opportunity for her.

Race 2 No3 RIVER KING
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Pat Dobbs

Another horse looking to show that recent losses sustained on him are merely lent is RIVER KING. He was backed as if defeat was out of the question and traded very short in running before going down in a tight finish at Chepstow. Hist trainer’s move to bring the gelding back to a mile can pay dividends.

Race 3 No3 JELLYSTONE PARK (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Rob Hornby

JELLYSTONE PARK was a springer in the market before producing very good natural speed to go several lengths clear of his field at Doncaster. He looked to have them stone cold, but raced wide apart from the challenging The Untamed who nailed him in the final stride. This is a useful performer who will pay to follow over spring distances through the summer.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 4 No5 MRAIR (Nap)
Trainer: George Scott – Jockey: Ryan Moore

Mehmas colt MRAIR was the subject of intense support for his debut at Newmarket where he had the misfortune to run into a useful type in Al Hudaiba. Hopes of a trip to Royal Ascot could be rekindled for him if he wins impressively today, which he should.

Race 6 No2 IRONIST
Trainer: George Margarson – Jockey: Tom Queally

IRONIST finished third on her only previous visit to Lingfield and has been performing solidly on grass with a sequence of races at Yarmouth that yielded figures of 1444. Although still inexperienced on sand he should give a good account today.

WINDSOR

Race 3 No6 DOWMAN (Nap)
Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: Billy Loughnane

Sioux Nation colt DOWMAN brmgs the best form to,the table courtesy of his near misses at Bath. He was beaten fair a square in spite of being popular on the market in April and now has a tongue tie added, which can assist him to open his account.

Race 5 No8 THE UNTAMED
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Joe Leavy

If Jellystone Park wins or runs well at Newbury earlier in the day it will provide a good omen for hat-trick seeker THE UNTAMED, who beat him in a desperate finish at Doncaster. The selection is worth putting into an exacta box with JEL PEPPER, COMICAL POINT and RIVER SPEY with the last made horse seeming over priced.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 5 No11 SEVEN SISTERS (Nap)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett- Jockey: Edward Greatrex

SEVEN SISTERS cost a king’s ransom as a yearling and it was therefore no surprise to see the daughter of Kingman to shape so well when second on her Salisbury introduction. She’s going to enjoy stretching out to a longer trip and can take advantage of her 5lb sex allowance against KING OF EARTH.

Race 6 No1 BLUE JAY WAY (Each Way)
Trainer: John Riches – Jockey: Ethan Tyndall

BLUE JAY WAY was only two lengths adrift of the bang in form Filey Beach at Catterick which has teed him up perfectly for this third outing of the year. The only reservation is a wide draw for this 1000 metres race around a left handed bend, and his jockey will need to be alert at the gate.
