WARWICK

Race 3 – ACT OF AUTHORITY 4/6

ACT OF AUTHORITY was thrown in too deep when sixth in a hot Grade Two contest at Cheltenham last time out but the Denis O’Connell Memorial ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle looks much calmer water.

The five-year-old son of Authorized had previously hacked up by 14 lengths at Bangor on his debut over timber and remains a promising sort.

Race 4 – PUSH THE BUTTON 6/4

PUSH THE BUTTON has a similar profile in the Olly Murphy Racing Novices’ Hurdle, recovering from a final-flight blunder to oblige at Worcester before finishing a creditable fourth behind three Irish raiders at Cheltenham. The four-year-old faces considerably easier competition here.

The main danger will come from Cherie d’am who aims for back-to-back wins after a five-length success tackling a tougher novice hurdle at Wetherby.

Big Fish started the campaign with a five-length win at Exeter attempting a maiden hurdle and remains open to progression.

Race 6 – AYE RIGHT 15/8

AYE RIGHT suffered an agonising defeat on his seasonal reappearance but can return to winning ways at Warwick on Wednesday.

The popular 10-year-old looked certain to secure a ninth career victory at Chepstow last month when jumping the final fence in fine fashion and landing well clear of the opposition.

However, a combination of idling on the run-in and then tiring in the dying stages allowed Good Boy Bobby to snatch the spoils, with Aye Right going down by a neck after being collared near the line.

Despite that late heartbreak, it was still an encouraging return for the 2021 Rehearsal Chase winner, who found life tough in top-class company last term.

He can secure a first success for almost two years when again facing fellow senior citizens in the John Sumner Memorial Veterans’ Handicap Chase.

A welter burden of 12st 2lb is of little concern, as Aye Right has carried big weights well in some valuable handicaps during his career, while he also has several triumphs on testing ground on his CV.

Race 7 – EITHER OR 3/1

EITHER OR holds some useful point-to-point form including a victory. Makes the transition to a leading yard debuting under rules.

Chique Angel delivers initial racecourse outing and the Paul Nicholls-trained Harry Cobden-ridden four-year-old could be firmly in the mix.
Lindy Reilly is having her first start and may warrant a watch in the market.

HEXHAM

Race 1 – IDY WOOD 1/4

IDY WOOD looks to have been found a nice opportunity to continue his development in the British Stallion Studs EBF ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle.

The five-year-old impressed when landing a Newbury bumper and readily accounted for some fair rivals on his debut over hurdles at Fontwell.

Jamie Snowden’s charge then kept on well when a fine third behind Lookaway at Cheltenham, form which was franked by the victor in Sunday’s Greatwood Hurdle.

Race 3 – INOX ALLEN 4/7

There will be plenty of interest in Lucinda Russell’s newcomer INNOX ALLEN in the Simon Waugh Racing’s @Northumberlandracingclub Maiden Hurdle.

He stayed on strongly to score in his sole point-to-point in Ireland and is a half-brother to Kempton winner Jupiter Allen.

Race 4 – CLOVIS BOY 15/8

CLOVIS BOY returned after a break with a good fourth attempting a nineteen runner handicap hurdle, and is firmly in the mix with improvement to come.

Kingston Bridge was a useful sixth on reappearance and may come forward for the run.

Celestial Horizon carries top weight but brings the advantage of race fitness and drops back in class.

Toombridge rates an each-way chance on seasonal reappearance.

Race 5 – LACILA BLUE 33/20

LACILA BLUE was a good third resuming at Kelso. Apprentice claim offers weight relief and will be a contender.

Show No Fear showed improved form when runner-up tackling the Flat at Newcastle. Returns to hurdles with a leading chance.

Hostile Hotelier carries top weight on seasonal reappearance. Fourth at Southwell delivering final start of previous preparation.

Lisloran rates an each-way contender after a seventh at Carlisle.
