LEICESTER

Race 1 – CALYXOH 28/10

CALYXOH showed plenty of promise debuting with a head second contesting a six-furlong novice event at Newmarket and has a top chance set to go one place better here.

Mapledurham did well when resuming three weeks back out-running massive odds to be a good 3L third in a 6f maiden at Newbury. This is an easier contest, so has a big chance.

High On Hope makes for plenty of appeal following a decent second on debut at Bath in a 6f maiden. Open to plenty of progress.

Race 4 – REACHING HIGH 91/100

REACHING HIGH is regally bred in more than one respect and looks ready to start upholding family honour in the Racecourse Live Streams On Racing TV Extra Handicap.

The son of Sea The Stars is out of 2013 Ascot Gold Cup winner Estimate, a mating put together by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

He carries the colours inherited by the King and Queen and appears to be heading in the right direction this term after lacking maturity as a two-year-old.

Reaching High returned to action with a solid sixth behind Harper’s Ferry in a hot Windsor maiden that has worked out well and then showed plenty of promise when second on his handicap debut at Chelmsford.

Primo Lara proved just too good that day but there is no disgrace in that, as he followed up with a comfortable triumph in a higher grade at York despite being handed a 5lb uplift.

Sir Michael Stoute still has a bit of work to do with Reaching High judged on the way he reared in the stalls before that last start, but the gelding clearly has potential and moving up in distance should help his cause.

Race 6 – ALFRED COVE 5/2

ALFRED COVE brings solid placed form including a good second among this company over 6f at Chelmsford City last month and rates a leading contender in the Ronan Keating Ladies’ Day Saturday 15th June Apprentice Handicap.

Liberty Bay often runs with credit including a solid fourth contesting a six furlong handicap at Bath three weeks back.

Mrs Trump scored at Redcar on penultimate start tackling this handicap standard over five furlongs before a Ripon sixth, so could bounce back to best.

LINGFIELD

Race 1 – DAMASCUS STEEL 5/2

DAMASCUS STEEL was a winner two runs back before finishing second on turf next time. Will be a likely contender revisiting the surface for the opening Download The Raceday Ready App Handicap.

Hill Station found success at Wolverhampton prior to a close fifth over course and distance in latest. Could go well.

Lunar Shadow returned from a break running second in March. Might prove fitter for that outing.

Warhol drops in grade and cannot be ruled out if ready for this.

Race 2 – AL QUDRA 67/100

Godolphin colt AL QUDRA can take advantage of a drop in class and step up in distance for the Get Raceday Ready/EBF Novice Stakes.

The son of No Nay Never cost 425,000 guineas as a yearling and has not been beaten far in two outings at Newmarket so far.

Charlie Appleby will be keen to find a cure for his tardy starts, but the ability is definitely there once he gets the hang of things.

Race 3 – LAOISMAN 5/2

LAOISMAN was unlucky not to land a four-timer when second to Katey Kontent at Windsor last time out, only going down by a nose after stumbling in the closing stages.

The Sean Woods-trained four-year-old continues to creep up the ratings ladder but the way he travels so strongly in his races suggests that he has the scope to cope and another big run is expected in the Download The Racecourse App Raceday Ready Handicap.

Race 6 – CAMACHO MAN 5/2

CAMACHO MAN managed third on debut for this yard before securing a 3.25L success next time. Could take another step forward attempting this journey.

Laurentia won when starting out last month. Will have stamina to prove tackling the trip.

Foinix was below his best managing seventh recently. Could be strong at the finish in this contest.

Miss Sligo has struggled this year. Now down to her last winning weight.
