THIRSK

Race 1 – ATHERSTON WARRIOR 2/1

ATHERSTON WARRIROR was beaten less than two lengths when a staying-on fourth of 15 in the Brocklesby and can build on that by winning the Best Prices Guaranteed Daily At Vickers.Bet Maiden Stakes.

The Alice Haynes-trained colt is a half-brother to three winners and his dam was a juvenile scorer, so he ticks plenty of boxes.

Race 3 – BURJ MALINKA 7/2

BURJ MALINKA showed plenty of ability on testing going at Doncaster when a good fourth tackling a higher graded five-furlong handicap. Can build on that effort in the Water Moon Handicap.

Selby’s Pride handles soft ground. Posted a smart second two starts ago at Newcastle over six furlongs and should be included.

Dazy Mazy ran with credit at Wolverhampton two outings back finishing a decent fourth in a 6f handicap and is of interest.

Race 6 – CATTON LADY 9/2

CATTON LADY hails from a good family and showed plenty of promise at two, prevailing on her Carlisle debut and being placed twice at Pontefract.

With Mick and David Easterby going along nicely of late, it would be no surprise to see this likeable filly go well on her seasonal reappearance in the Ruby Lodge Care Home In Thirsk Handicap.

Race 8 – EY UP ITS JAZZ 7/1

EY UP ITS JAZZ went well here delivering last outing of the season in September finishing second tackling a higher level course and distance handicap. Enjoys soft going and holds every chance resuming.

Russco produced a solid fourth on testing ground last week at Catterick over seven furlongs. Big chance set to improve for that effort.

HEREFORD

Race 1 – FAMOSO 7/2

FAMOSO has some strong course form in the book this season ahead of the Download The Racing App Now Novices’ Handicap Chase.

Matt Sheppard’s eight-year-old has been first, second and third here since mid-December and seems to have been suited by dropping back down to two miles of late.

Race 3 – JACK DOYEN 3/1

JACK DOYEN gained compensation for falling three out in a promising position at Leicester by running out a ready winner at this venue last time out.

That victory was achieved despite some understandably cautious leaps and a quick double could be on the cards in the Enjoy The Racing App For Free Handicap Chase.

Race 4 – ROCKOLA 3/1

ROCKOLA showed plenty of promise delivering first two starts finishing third at Stratford and Doncaster before unseating the rider at the final hurdle at Wetherby over two miles.

Open to further improvement and should be a serious player in the Try The Racing App This Afternoon Fillies’ Junior ‘National Hunt’ Hurdle.

That’swhatshesaid made a winning debut at Newcastle contesting a two mile jumpers flat race before a Sedgefield fifth. Can improve further providing first hurdle outing and makes for appeal.

Crystal Glance holds claims on paper and is worth a second look in the betting and is an interesting newcomer.

EL GRANJERO is proving consistent with a good maiden hurdle second here preceding a nine length success contesting a 2m3 1/2f maiden hurdle at this venue.
