Jamie Moore's Diary - jockey talks Goshen and Ascot rides

SEDGEFIELD

Race 1 – RECOUP 1/2

RECOUP is a former flat winner who reappeared for a new yard last month and travelling nicely provided a successful start to his jumping career. This is an ideal race to make it two in a row.

What A Johnny is another securing victory on hurdling debut when just prevailing at Stratford despite some awkward jumping and should be in the mix.

Coup De Coeur fell when returning from a substantial lay-off but subsequently placed over course and distance and should enter your calculations.

Race 3 – HARPER VALLEY 5/2

HARPER VALLEY is the choice in the Neil “Rip” Kirby Memorial Handicap Hurdle at Sedgefield.

He came good at the fourth attempt for Rebecca Menzies in May, fending off a stablemate to win at Hexham despite getting tight for room at one stage.

Harper Valley did not appear all out in victory and connections could make hay off a rating of 105.

Race 6 – ZUCKERBERG 2/1

A lacklustre leap at the final fence cost ZUCKERBERG dearly at this track at the start of the month, but compensation awaits in the Over 60 Betting Sites At Bettingsites.Ltd.UK Handicap Chase.

Jennie Candlish’s charge looked a likely winner from a long way out over just short of two and a half miles, but a ponderous clearance at the last allowed Tom Creen to swoop in and grab victory by just under two lengths.

Given how well Zuckerberg had been going before it fell apart late on, he is worth sticking with now he has a run under his belt.

Race 7 – DEEP STRATO 6/4

Point-to-point winning gelding DEEP STRATO makes his first start under rules.

Represents a yard with a decent jumpers flat record this season and looks the one to beat.

Diamond Geezer rates as a half-brother to dual hurdle winner Bread And Butter and is a son of Ocovango who won at G2 level.

Vanilla Dancer placed at huge odds on racecourse debut last month tackling track and trip, so could be a danger.

Chantilly Dragon is a yet to race filly and daughter of Listed performer Dragon Dancer. Worth a market check resumed.

SOUTHWELL

Race 1 – FAZAYTE 28/10

FAZAYTE could still be ahead of the handicapper as he tries to bring up his hat-trick in the planetsportbet.com Handicap Chase.

Ryan Potter has mixed fences and hurdles with this eight-year-old to good effect, with Fazayte scoring over the smaller obstacles at Market Rasen in September before following up in chase company just under two weeks ago.

With winning margins of a short head and three-quarters of a length respectively, the handicapper has been restricted in his actions and Fazayte is only 8lb higher for those two victories.

Race 2- EURKASH 2/1

EURKASH was resuming from a break when beaten a neck second earlier this month and may go one better in the Download The Planetsportbet App Handicap Chase.

Auditoria managed a good second two runs back before unseating next time, so could be in the mix with a clear round.

Star Flyer finished behind in third on chase debut but can improve for that experience.

Race 4- MOUNTAIN LEOPARD 9/4

MOUNTAIN LEOPARD ran well over two and a half miles here back in May, but an extended three-mile trip in the Bet & Watch At planetsportbet.com Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle could be more to his liking.

The eight-year-old has not seen much action for a horse of his age, with this just his 11th overall start, but he seems to have a measure of ability judged on the fact he has won once and made the frame on five other occasions.

He was outpaced at the finish last time and while his previous effort over three miles and a furlong at Hereford in January yielded only a sixth place, he was staying on at the finish, so the trip did not appear to be the issue and he is actually racing off a 2lb lower mark now.

Race 5 – TELAPATHIQUE 11/8

A drop in grade should help TELAPATHIQUE get off the mark over the jumps in the Racing Specials Every Day At PlanetSportBet Mares’ Maiden Hurdle.

Trained by Lucy Wadham, the five-year-old looked a fair recruit last term when finishing fourth on her bumper debut before quickly adding a victory to her CV when winning at Warwick.

She did not make life easy on either start by taking a keen hold and that same eager attitude was certainly not helpful when upped to Grade Two company at Aintree, where she ran as her 100/1 starting price suggested she would.

Telepathique was again sent off at long odds for her hurdles bow at Newbury earlier in the month and while she was beaten 15 lengths by Manimole as a 50-1 shot in a better event than this, there was plenty to like about the way she stayed on after racing with much more restraint.

The Telescope filly is entitled to improve for the outing and this could be her moment to shine.

Race 6 – FERRYBRIDGE 3/1

FERRYBRIDGE is a nine-race maiden however indicated some ability since joining this yard.

The Best Odds Guaranteed At Planetsportbet Novices’ Handicap Hurdle is a good opportunity to get off the mark.

Ring Of Beara finished fourth revisiting hurdles last month and now drops in class. Could be thereabouts.

Jack’s A Legend has been off the track since pulling up tackling fences in February, so will need this run.

Sarsen was well beaten on first outing for Anthony Honeyball’s yard and is capable of better.
