NEWCASTLE

Race 4- BYSTANDER 9/4

BYSTANDER is given another chance to show his true worth in the BetMGM: It’s Showtime Novice Stakes.

The son of Dark Angel went off odds-on favourite at Redcar back in April but badly let down favourite backers.

He was with Simon and Ed Crisford at the time but has since been moved, like many, to Karl Burke by owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid.
He was last of six, which suggests something was amiss, as does the fact this will be his first run for 255 days.

Burke’s string remain in great form and the 150,000 guineas purchase should be a different proposition this time.

Race 5 – AL FARABI 4/1

AL FARABI has taken well to running on sand with a win at Kempton and a Southwell second, so Roger Varian’s charge is worth following in the Boost Your Acca At BetMGM Handicap.

Race 6 – FILLY ONE 8/11

FILLY ONE impressed with a hard-fought nose victory over course and distance on debut. Likes these conditions and should follow up.

Angel Of The Bay makes racecourse debut with benefit of apprentice claim and could be in the mix.

Himawari is expected to improve for a ninth at Kempton last time out, could hold each-way claims.

Race 8 – THE CALTONIAN 9/4

THE CALTONIAN has been in excellent form with two wins and three placings from last five outings.

The four-year-old continues to rise through the handicap and remains on a winnable mark.

Secret Road followed up a success over course and distance with a good second at Southwell and a bold bid is anticipated.

After John broke through for a win tackling course and distance and could be of Interest.
