WINDSOR

Race 1 – BANTZ 17/2

A switch to handicap company might do the trick for the William Haggas-trained BANTZ in the Download The Raceday Ready App Nursery.

The son of Kodiac hinted at ability on his debut at Chepstow and a second-place finish at Wolverhampton next time was a step in the right direction.

His latest effort when attempting to make all the running before weakening at Carlisle was admittedly underwhelming, but that has allowed him to move into the handicap sphere on what looks a workable mark of 73 and he may fare better on what is his first start over six furlongs.

Race 3 – CALUMET33/20

CALUMET is confidently expected to open his account at the third time of asking in the Download The Racing App 43 Now Maiden Stakes at Windsor.

Marco Botti’s Calyx colt looked a winner in waiting after being beaten a short head on his racecourse debut at Kempton in late January and the form of that effort could hardly be stronger.

The odds-on winner, Silent Age, went on to follow up on his next start and is now rated 88, the third-placed Suspicion is unbeaten in two subsequent starts and the fourth and fifth home, Musical Dancer and Federated, have also visited the winner’s circle since.

Calumet returned to Kempton on Valentine’s Day and while he again had to make do with the runner-up spot, he was just unfortunate to bump into a particularly smart horse in hot favourite Native Approach, who was well fancied for the Craven on his next outing, albeit he was well beaten.

Botti’s runner has not been seen in competitive action since, but provided he is fit enough to do himself justice after the break, he should prove hard to beat in the hands of Oisin Murphy.

Race 6 – SEEK AND DESTROY 18/10

SEEK AND DESTROY looks to do a Windsor double in the British Stallion Studs Ebf Fillies’ Handicap.

Last time out she battled on tenaciously to land a course and distance maiden on just her third career start.

Ralph Beckett’s yard has been in-form this year with 16 percent of their 2024 runners finding themselves in the winners enclosure and Seek And Destroy can make a successful handicap debut here.

Race 7 – NEW DAYRELL 11/2

NEW DAYRELL can land for Lewis Edmunds in the Download The Fitzdares App Now Handicap.

He was denied by a neck when tackling this same trip at Bath last time out and should improve.

Lewis Edmunds retains the ride and he may go one one better off a 1lb higher mark.
