EXETER
Race 3 No1 PYLEIGH MASTER (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Hawke – Jockey: Miss Ella Herbison
An interesting runner in this handicap hurdle is PYLEIGH MASTER even though he needs to overcome a near three month absence. The former point winner will enjoy these drying conditions, and though sure to benefit from the outing is one to follow in the coming weeks.
Race 4 No1 SHERBORNE
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Freddie Gingell
SHERBORNE went off the outsider of seven at Taunton but it didn’t stop him making the frame. His superior jumping assisted him in that, and it’s a weapon he can again utilise with effect on drying ground that will benefit him.
Race 7 No8 MACKLIN (Nap)
Trainer: Will Biddick – Jockey: Mr Josh Newman
The concluding hinter-chase can go to MACKLIN, who is a seven times point winner. His latest run under that code saw him come home unchallenged, and as the highest rated in this he should outpoint CRAWTER and ENQARDE.
WETHERBY
Race 2 No4 WILLIAM CODY (Nap)
Trainer: Pam Sly – Jockey: Jack Andrews
Although he keeps finding one or two to beat him, WILLIAM CODY is overdue a change of luck that can happen here. He travelled much the best before being grabbed at Southwell four weeks ago, and though 4lb higher should be suited by the track, trip and ground today.
Race 5 No5 LIBRE DE CHOEUR
Trainer: Clive Boultbee-Brooks – Jockey: Richard Patrick
LIBRE DE CHOEUR hails from a stable amongst the winners and can back up the favour Express Surprise did us at Chepstow on Sunday. The selection gained a first jumping success at Ffos Las and is open to further progression for this clash with HAWTHORN STREET.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 1 No6 SINTRA (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Colin Keane
SINTRA was a late scratch from his tended comeback race but this change of plan means the Kingman colt should start at backable odds. He will be more streetwise than when third after showing greenness at Newcastle, and can surprise paper favourite NOBODY KNOWS.
Race 2 No4 LAHAN KINGMAN
Trainer: Richard Hughes – Jockey: Billy Loughnane
LAHAN KINGMAN already has form over this trip and it was a cracking first effort when she was beaten into third by two subsequent winners at Newbury last August. She’s trained well on an AW surface in Lambourn, and is strongly fancied to open her account in a race that’s cut up favourably for her.
Race 3 No9 GOOD KARMA (Each Way)
Trainer: John Riches – Jockey: Sean Kirrane
GOOD KARMA shaped like a horse running into form when third over course and distance with AL HOFZAN one place in front of him here a fortnight ago. The grey is better drawn than that rival, and on revised terms can turn the tables on him.
Race 4 No11 VON KROLOCK (Each Way)
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Callum Shepherd
VON KROLOCK chased home River Wharfe at Southwell last week to make it a third earning run in succession. The visored gelding is up against a very much in form opponent in BOMB SQUAD, but can get the better of him back at this more suitable course.
Race 5 No2 ARLECCHINO’S REX
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: Jason Watson
ARLECCHINO’S REX arrived with a swooping run to get up close home and justify strong market support here two weeks ago. At the same class level he breaks from the rail, and can confirm his superiority over AL SHABAB.
