CHEPSTOW

Race 2 No5 ISLAND BRIDGE

Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

ISLAND BRIDGE a needs to stem a sequence of close defeats but is probably in the right race to achieve it. The former pointer winner was turned over as a 4-9 chance at Ludlow, but while that is worrying he should be able to make his experience edge count against BOULTYDOOLIN.

Race 3 No6 EXPRESS SURPRISE (Nap)

Trainer: Clive Boultbee-Brooks – Jockey: Richard Patrick

EXPRESS SURPRISE has skipped a couple of engagements since winning at Uttoxeter and finishing a never nearer fourth in a very competitive affair at Windsor. He should enjoy racing on this track with its long home straight and is strongly fancied to take the spoils.

Race 6 No7 RULE ME IN

Trainer: Christian Williams – Jockey: Jack Tudor

Though popular in the market, RULE ME ON never looked like travelling with purpose on his latest start at Southwell, though it might prove hasty to ignore him.

Race 7 No4 JUST FOR DAD

Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Dylan Johnston

JUST FOR DAD wasn’t entirely disgraced when finishing with more in front of him than behind on debut at Ascot. He’d shown ability at home and has benefitted from the experience to the point where he can get involved in this less hot affair.

MARKET RASEN

Race 3 No3 GRAIN TRADE

Trainer: Billy Aprahamian- Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

GRAIN TRADE has his quirks but picked up after looking beaten here last time and might well enjoy this better ground. He comes with risks attached, but is more than capable of winning this if in the mood.

Race 5 No6 AIRE SPRAY (Nap)

Trainer: Sue Smith – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

AIRE SPRAY did himself a favour of sorts by scoring narrowly on his latest start here which meant the handicapper wasn’t too hard on him. He travelled much the best in that contest and can confirm his superiority over ROSIE BALOO, who finished well and might we worth saving on.

Race 7 No4 KALKAROO

Trainer: Billy Aprahamian-Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

Course and distance winner KALKAROO was made plenty of use of when third at Plumpton and has come down 1lb for his efforts. He’s another who will enjoy the drying ground, and can prosper.
