PONTEFRACT

Race 4 No10 PAPA COCKTAIL (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Jason Hart

PAPA COCKTAIL has been dropped 1lb for an underwhelming run last time which came about after the gelding missed the break. He can’t afford that to happen from his slot on the rail today, but if breaking better his trademark strong finish can see him run 8nto the money in the straight.

Race 6 No12 MOUNT KING (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

MOUNT KING brings a similar profile to the table for this 1600 metres handicap, having blotted his copybook at Redcar after taking a huge walk in the market. His earlier efforts at Class5 level also leave him with work to do but he should have the race run to suit.

YARMOUTH

Race 1 No8 ICONIC DAWN
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Toby Moore

Lambourn raider ICONIC DAWN and EIGHTTHREEONE are very closely matched on the book, but I fancy the first named filly to come out on top with Moore’s 5lb claim likely to prove an important factor.

Race 6 No7 MYTHICAL GUEST (Each Way)
Trainer: George Margarson – Jockey: Jack Callan

MYTHICAL GUEST has edged closer to an overdue success which would be more than two years in coming, and following a solid run behind Go Rimbaud at Newmarket this is his best chance in a while. The six-year-old carded one of his two career successes on this terrain while his stable has been amongst the winners.

Race 7 No11 GUEST HOUSE (Nap)
Trainer: George Margarson – Jockey: Jack Callan

From the same stable GUEST HOUSE rates the best bet on the card. His record of three successes at this course goes before him, while a rise of 3lb for the latest is unlikely to stem his march up the ranks.

STRATFORD

Race 2 No5 RED METAL (Nap)
Trainer: Henrietta Knight – Jockey: Brendan Powell

I can pass on strong vibes for RED METAL who though taking outa weak bumper carded a career best effort when beaten a nose on his latest outing over this course and distance. He’s been well tutored for the switch to hurdles at home.

Race 4 No8 PREMIER FANTASY
Trainer: Nicky Henderson Schofield – Jockey: Harry Reed

PREMIER FANTASY is a six times point winner who reverts to hurdles after finishing second on his first run over fences at Plumpton. His form has improved since he underwent a breathing operation, and this tight track will play to his strengths.

Race 5 No PESCATORIUS
Trainer: Rob Summers- Jockey: James Best

PESCATORIUS showed a liking for this track when second over a longer trip last time. He’s back for more off a 2lb lower mark, while the race has cut up favourably for him.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3 No6 STARSHIP LILY (Nap)
Trainer: George Scott

Starman filly STARSHIP LILY was backed as though defeat was out of the question on her Yarmouth debut, only to miss the break and run green. We should see a different entity today, as judging from the way she’s worked subsequently she’s learned plenty from it.

Race 8 No1 TAKEITORLEAVEIT
Trainer: Jonny Portman – Jockey: Rob Hornby

This trainer-jockey combination had a reverse when Rumstar ran like a horse that was over the top at Longchamp yesterday. In lesser light TAKEITORLEAVEIT they field a super consistent runner who has only failed to trouble the judge twice in his last dozen starts, and that includes three successes and six visits to the runners-up slot.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 3 No7 ALLAIRE (Nap)

Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Jason Watson

ALLAIRE cost her supporters when third at Leicester after being backed into odds on. However, her earlier form is the best on offer for this stayers’ novice in which she can open her account.
