CHESTER

Race 2 No8 REDORANGE
Trainer: Clive Cox – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

The 1000 metres course on the Roodee is all about speed from the gate and one that fits the bill in this respect is REDORANGE. He displayed good natural pace when leading for much of the journey on his Sandown return, and can also break well and dominate from a perfect draw one off the fence today.

Race 3 No5 QUEEN OF THIEVES (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

This Oaks trial can see QUEEN OF THIEVES successfully taking a step up the class ladder for top connections. A beautifully bred individual, she totally dominated her first run back at Yarmouth and looks the type that could have a lot more to offer. MINNIE HAUK cost not far short of 2million euros and comes here on the back of a snug Leopardstown triumph to make her a threat to all for Aidan O’Brien. The other filly that can make the podium is SECRET OF LOVE.

Race 4 BOODLES CHESTER VASE (Group 3)

No6 PINHOLE
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

Although he was a late developer, PINHOLE was always considered potentially smart when under the care of Sir Michael Stoute for whom he ran well in a warm
Newmarket novice. On debut for Beckett the Frankel colt made no mistake at Southwell in December, and he’s thrived through the rest of the close season. This trip should bring out further progression from him in a fascinating match up with his stablemate SQUARE D’ALBONI and the Aidan O’Brien-trained LAMBOURN.

Race 5 No2 BOB MALI
Trainer: Charlie Hills – Jockey: William Buick

BOB MALI put in a pleasing first run for Hills at Newmarket where he chased home Double Rush over 1200 metres. He encounters faster ground today, and while that poses a million dollar question as all his previous races were run in testing conditions, he’s worth chancing.

Race 6 No5 MISTER WINSTON (Each Way)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: David Probert

Churchill colt MISTER WINSTON should give a good account in this ten furlongs maiden, even though he will qualify for handicaps after what is a third run. The selection was easy to back when placing on his latest outing at Nottingham, for which he’s gone a fair way forward At home.

NEWTON ABBOT

Race 5 No1 KILLER KANE (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

KILLER KANE is conceding upwards of 5lb to his rivals in a staying handicap chase he can dominate. This tightness of the track should keep him interested, and help him notch a first success in more than two years for patrons who have owned some very good performers over the years.

KELSO

Race 6 No4 LUCKIE DEVIL (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

I’m keen to keep the powder dry until this concluding bumper in which LUCKIE DEVIL can deliver. He ran into one on debut at Newcastle, and while I can’t categorically state there’s not another bandit waiting in the bushes this talented individual is afforded a confident vote.

FONTWELL PARK

Race 4 No2 BOBALOT (Nap)
Trainer: L Horsfall – Jockey: Mr Sean P O’Connor

BOBALOT greatly impressed when winning at Huntingdon where he was firmly in control at the buisness end. It’s given the grey a timely confidence boost, and from a 7lb higher mark he can win again.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 2 No1 JANE TEMPLE (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Benoit de la Sayette

Siyouni filly JANE TEMPLE carries a penalty in a race in which she and stablemate Star Of Light can dominate. The Nap gained experience of this course when runner-up on her introduction last October and duly went one better at Southwell over this trip of a mile and a half. She is just preferred against a filly with similarly strong credentials.

Race 3 No2 BEE MY HONEY
Trainer: Charlie Hills – Jockey: Rob Hornby

BEE MY HONEY is well drawn in this first leg of the fillies’ maiden in which she returns from a more than 200 day absence but will not lack for fitness. The daughter of Mehmas has worked well on Polytrack at home.
