CARLISLE

Race 3 No11 SEA THE THUNDER
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Hector Crouch

SEA THE THUNDER has journeyed a long way to contest the historic Cumberland Plate, and the hint should be taken. The beautifully-bred colt has come up against some decent foes in his two handicap assignments with his Newmarket third to Black Run having been boosted by that horse’s hood run at Royal Ascot. He’s getting a good chunk of weight from his foes, and should get into the shake-up.

Race 4 No1 JABAARA
Trainer: Roger Varian – Jockey: James Doyle

JABAARA has the points on the board in this Listed race for fillies, having comfortably landed a similar race at Musselburgh. The northern race clearly agrees with the daughter of Exceed And Excel who is a worthy favourite, and can follow up.

Race 5 No8 HIGHWAYGREY (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Jason Hart

HIGHWAYGREY is one I’m looking forward to backing in the historic Carlisle Bell, based on his staying on second here behind BerryEdge earlier in the month. His stable is starting to fire in the winners, and if he enjoys a smooth run through he can arrive late on the scene to take away a cheque.

Race 7 No4 RED PIXIE (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: William Buick

Although she lacks the experience of her foes in this 1400 metres handicap, RED PIXIE is a filly that jumps off the page, and should make no mistake. She travelled best for a long way in both her starts this year and should appreciate returning to this distance on her first run in a handicap in the famous Frankel colours.

SALISBURY

Race 3 No3 SERGIO PARISSE (Nap)
Trainer: Clive Cox – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

SERGIO PARISSE landed some good bets at Windsor to give another boost to his upwardly mobile sire. He showed a professional attitude and should make no mistake in this follow-up attempt.

Race 6 No3 SUBSEQUENT
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

Silent Glance defends a two-race unbeaten record but might find SUBSEQUENT too hot to handle. The selection has made notable progression from race to race in his three starts out of Park House and is in his element over this mile-and-a-half trip as he moves into the handicap arena.

WORCESTER

Race 4 No3 BORN IN THE WEST (Nap)
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Gearoid Harney

BORN IN THE WEST brings good form to the table after being narrowly denied on her debut under Rules at Newton Abbot. The former Irish pointer is likely to progress from that first effort from Pond House, and looks a worthy favourite to prove the best bet on this card.

Race 7 No6 FADED FANTASY
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Nick Schofield

FADED FANTASY notched his only career success at this time last year, but indicated with a close second over this course and distance earlier in the month that he’s ready to pick up the winning thread. He has the profile of a horse that is running into form, and needs respecting.

FFOS LAS

Race 2 No10 MANILA THRILLER (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: David Probert

MANILA THRILLER made quite hard work of getting off the mark at Chester after getting further back than ideal of the turning Roodee. To her credit, the daughter of Rumble Inthejungle picked up with gritty determination to get the job done and is strongly fancied to add this restricted novice to her CV.

Race 6 No5 SOUTH KENSINGTON
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: David Probert

This could be the last chance saloon for SOUTH KENSINGTON, who after showing promise in her early career seems to have regressed based on her underwhelming comeback run at Lingfield. In her favour is that this is a weakly contested Class5, while the addition of blinkers can also bring about some of the improvement necessary for her to open her account.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 4 No8 ZOULU WARRIOR (Each Way)
Trainer: Heather Main – Jockey: Aidan Keeley

ZOULU WARRIOR was very easy to back on debut and couldn’t make any impression but from a good slot on the rail the Zoustar colt could progress. He’s only a speculative suggestion but could earn.

Race 6 No10 RING OF LIGHT (Each Way)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Trevor Whelan

RING OF LIGHT has shaped better than his form figures suggest in three readying runs this season, and retains the cheek pieces he sported for the first time when fourth to Siam Fox at Windsor. From a good draw, he can make it a third win in four starts on the Kempton Polytrack.

Race 7 No5 WAXING GIBBOUS (Nap)
Trainer: David Menuisier – Jockey: Harry Davies

WAXING GIBBOUS enjoys the luxury of the rail in this Class4 and can build on her clear-cut Newbury triumph when proving popular in the market. The daughter of German Derby winner Sea The Moon can show she has plenty more to offer.
