WETHERBY
Race 3 No3 TORNEO
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan
This two mile handicap chase will be interesting to watch, with Lambourn raider TORNEO the one that catches my eye. The five-year-old enjoyed a bountiful first season over fences with successes at Chepstow and Taunton and would have been placed on each of his other five outings but for falling at Ayr. He enjoys this better ground, and like all runners from the Snowden stable is ready for this seasonal return.
Race 5 No2 SAIL AWAY (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Atkins
In a race that has cut up disappointingly, SAIL AWAY can give a jumping exhibition to his two opponents. The grey is likely to be given the perfect lead by confirmed pace setter Magistrato who he can overcome in the closing stages.
NOTTINGHAM
Race 2 No8 ZIATA
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark
ZIATA makes abundant appeal on her second start in this fillies’ maiden. She was easy to back, but in finishing fourth was beaten less than a length in a blanket finish to her first start at Haydock. This well related individual has learned plenty from it, and on identical underfoot conditions and over a suitably longer trip can get off the mark.
Race 3 No2 PARISIAN SCHOLAR (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
This is a good opportunity for PARISIAN SCHOLAR to strike while the iron’s hot and complete a hat-trick under the champion jockey. The Study Of Man colt bolted up at Newcastle last week and after that five lengths success is strongly fancied to defy a 6lb penalty.
Race 7 No9 ZOULIGAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand
ZOULIGAN hit the buffers on his latest start at Wolverhampton after attracting considerable support. He’s been given time to recover from those exertions and should benefit from having Marquand back in the saddle. Although no star, he’s definitely capable of showing more than he has in six races so far.
WORCESTER
Race 4 No2 BIG GINGE (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Mr Jamie Nield
The only advice on this second jumps card is BIG GINGE. Although beaten at odds-on on a couple of occasions last season the gelding was unlucky to bump into useful foes, while he wasn’t entirely disgraced on his final start n handicap company in the EBF Final at Sandown. He’s in calmer waters for this return to the fray, and has done plenty of work.
KEMPTON PARK
Race 3 No9 ATALANTA MIST (Nap)
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning – Jockey: Darragh Keenan
An earning first run at Salisbury is good form to bring to the table in this fillies’ restricted novice by ATALANTA MIST. The daughter of Ulysses is much better drawn than her market rival Alarming, and having worked well on a all-weather surface at home can open her account.
Race 5 No9 APPLE OF MY EYE (Each Way)
Trainer: Pat Phelan – Jockey: Paddy Bradley
Although disappointing here last time, APPLE OF MY EYE was returning from a break and might have needed the run. While her earlier efforts wouldn’t set the world alight there have been flickers of ability, and this is a very open race in which she can get into it.
Race 8 No12 MARCHETTI (Each Way)
Trainer: Jimmy Fox – Jockey: Nicola Currie
Veteran licence holder Fox can strike in the finale with the well berthed MARCHETTI, who wears a first time hood. The eight-year-old has earned several times in a select campaign in 2025, but her latest podium finish here suggests she’s ready to win again.
