LINGFIELD PARK
Race 5 No3 BLUE PRINCE (Each Way)
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: David Probert
While not having the best of luck with the draw, BLUE PRINCE is nevertheless worth supporting on his first run on the all-weather since March. After troubling the judge on both visits here, the Blue Point gelding embarked on a successful turf campaign that crescendoed in a storming triumph at the Qatar Goodwood Festival. His jockey that day is back in the irons, and the combination can again arrive late on the scene.
Race 6 No10 MADAM CELESTE (Nap)
Trainer: Ger Lyons – Jockey: Colin Keane
Galileo filly MADAM CELESTE should prove the better of two challengers from Ireland for this Listed staying race for distaffers. She brings some good form to the table, having been denied in a photo for a Group 3 at Naas whilst finishing in the ruck in the Irish Oaks (Group 1). The 1lb overweight she carried on her latest start in a Listed contest at Dundalk probably cost her the race, and on only a sixth career starts she needs respecting.
Race 7 No1 BACK SEE DAA (Each Way)
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: Clifford Lee
BACK SEE DAA has taken a couple of heavy defeats since returning from a protracted lay off but she’s also gone close in a Haydock Class3 and wasn’t beaten far on her latest outing at Sandown. She’s been campaigned like a good filly, and while having no hiding place from the assessor could easily run into the money.
Race 9 No12 PHOENIX MOON
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: Tyler Heard
PHOENIX MOON has a favourable draw for this 1200 metres sprint round a left-handed bend. She’s also been in good form of late, going 133 under the guidance of Heard, and the combination can again get into the shake-up.
BANGOR-ON-DEE
Race 1 No6 JAGWAR (Nap)
Trainer: Oliver Greenall – Jockey: Jonjo O’Neill Jr
JAGWAR overcame an unpromising position turning into the Wetherby straight to get up and deny Half Shot on his debut over fences last month. It was only a seventh career start for the promising five-year-old, who is very well regarded, and should follow-up in the colours of JP McManus.
Race 4 No4 DO IT AGAIN
Trainer: Nick Zetterholm – Jockey: Michael O’Sullivan
It’s not often that French juvenile hurdlers head for this track, giving even more reason for respecting the claims of DO IT AGAIN. The Galway gelding has been well touted for his debut under Rules, and might prove too strong for previous winner AOTANO to handle.
AYR
Race 3 No2 BLAZING COURT
Trainer: John Dixon – Jockey: Mr John Dixon
BLAZING COURT has proved a progressive summer jumper, going 321 in his three outings over fences and looking a different horse over those obstacles. He now needs to translate that well being to his new stable, and will be hard to beat if he can.
Race 4 No2 ARTIC ROW (Nap)
Trainer: Nick Alexander – Jockey: Conor Rabbit
ARTIC ROW brings a high win when completing record to the table with figures of P1F115U since having his attention switched to fences. He was scratched from his intended comeback race last week, but his connections appear to have found him a more straightforward opportunity in a race that has cut up.
SOUTHWELL
Race 4 No5 GLOUCESTERSHIRE (Each Way)
Trainer: Martyn Meade – Jockey: S D Bowen
Top apprentice Bowen could help make the difference for GLOUCESTERSHIRE, who had to use too much petrol to obtain a prominent early position from a wide draw on his latest start at Kempton, and had no more to give in the closing stages. It was however a satisfactory first run back for his original connections, and the much travelled gelding can step up on it.
Race 9 No3 PIPERSTOWN
Trainer: Kevin Frost – Jockey: Andrea Pinna
PIPERSTOWN should have the wherewithal to make a mark competing from a favourable draw in this low grade sprint. The No Nay Never gelding has troubled the judge on each of his two starts since going handicapping. He’s been dropped 1lb and should have more to offer against mainly fully exposed rivals.
