BANGOR-ON-DEE

Race 2 No10 MOONSHINE MAN
Trainer: Henrietta Knight – Jockey: Brendan Powell

This looks a good opportunity for MOONSHINE MAN to open his account over fences. He jumped impeccably only to be grabbed on the run in at Sedgefield with the remainder well beaten and has subsequently skipped an opportunity owing to unsuitable ground. Should his pilot elect to lead it can prove an effective ploy with the Nap making the best of his weight concession from most of the field.

Race 3 No2 DIVA LUNA (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Ben Jones

A fascinating contest can see DIVA LUNA putting her best foot forward as she switches racing codes. Unbeaten in two bumpers, she opened her account over jumps at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day and ran well in the mares’ hurdle at the Festival in March when only overhauled on the run in. This is a hot heat, but she’s got the X-factor required to fend off the challenge of JOYEUSE.

Race 6 No5 DUKE OF VENDOME (Each Way)
Trainer: Donald McCan Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes

DUKE OF VENDOME is a two time bumper winner who has already surpassed the form he showed on the Irish point circuit. In the colours of his trainer’s leading patron he can make this a winning debut over hurdles and at the main expense of SHABALKO D’HERM.

Race 7 No4 FRESH AS A DAISY
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: James Bowen

FRESH AS A DAISY downed a couple of useful foes in a mares’ hurdle at Uttoxeter back in May and returns for a stable starting to get into gear with its novices. She’s schooled well and can form a bright ending to this interesting card by remaining unbeaten over jumps.

AYR

Race 1 No1 PRESIDENT SCOTTIE (Each Way)
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

PRESIDENT SCOTTIE earned in four of his five races over fences last season before disappointing at the Perth Festival. He often attracted support, but though capable of travelling strongly doesn’t always find as much off the bridle as it looks like he will. That issue can be eradicated on his return to a track where a gamble on him went astray in January.

Race 4 No1 DERRYHASSEN PADDY (Nap)
Trainer: Lucinda Russell – Jockey: Derek Fox

A big hope from this yard for novice chases is DERRYHASSEN PADDY, who won a bumper and two novices hurdles last season. He concluded a very promising campaign by finishing third in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham, and has been well prepared for the switch to fences. He’s up against a similarly bright prospect in SIXMILEBRIDGE, but can claim that scalp and is a horse to follow.

Race 6 No3 COCONUT MAN
Trainer: Lucinda Russell – Jockey: Jack Power

COCONUT MAN lacks experience but arrives with good vibes from his stable in what could prove a match with Irish raider PROPHETESS MIRIAM. She tries her luck on Scottish shores following near misses in bumpers at Listowel and Punchestown, and also enjoys the 5lb mares’ allowance.
