BATH

Race 5 No1 MISS DOLLY ROCKER (Nap)
Trainer: Daniel Kubler – Jockey: Rob Hornby

The best quality race of the day can go to MISS DOLLY ROCKER, who is a past winner at this venue. For her new trainer Kubler she scored at Goodwood in June, whilst a podium finish in a racing league Class3 at Chepstow last time reads well. On that occasion she was hampered in her run and came home with a genuine excuse.

Race 7 No5 MAPLEDURHAM (Each Way)
Trainer: Rod Millman – Jockey: George Wood

Named after the Berkshire village whose church formed the inspiration behind an iconic Black Sabbath LP cover, MAPLEDURHAM is not an obvious choice for this, but now back on easier ground can realise the promise she showed in two earning efforts as a two-year-old.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No1 MOTAZZEN
Trainer: Henrietta Knight – Jockey: Cieren Fallon

MOTAZZEN proved a key cog in the wheel for Knight with his three successes in handicap hurdles at the end of last year before being forced onto the injury list. He returned to the Flat to post a 50-1 shocker at Southwell but can now show there was no fluke about the triumph.

Race 4 No9 NICELY TIMED (Each Way)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Joe Leavy

By Time Test out of Snoqualmie Girl, NICELY TIMED is a home bred carrying the popular silks of Jeff Smith. She makes her introduction from a good slot in the gate, and needs watching in the market against the hooded What’s The Plan and Pretty Danielle.

Race 7 No12 SPACEWOMAN (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Rhys Clutterbuck

In the colours of her trainer, SOACEWOMAN can overcome a tricky wide draw to take out the nightcap. A near miss at 25-1 on debut at Salisbury was followed by defeat at 7-4 on second start at Bath, but the principals pulled clear in that race, and in this weak looking affair she can recoup the losses.

HAMILTON PARK

Race 4 No14 BOLLIN NEIL (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

At the foot of the weights BOLLIN NEIL command respect, and for a trainer that can do well at the meeting. The dual purpose performer did is a good turn when scoring at his favourite venue of Catterick, where he was also successful over hurdle last winter and on three previous occasions to that. He went from the front last time to come home unchallenged, and while this is a totally different track he’s fancied to repeat the dose.

Race 7 No3 TEMPER TRAP
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

His stablemate TEMPER TRAP tends to find his form at this time of the year, as demonstrated by a gritty success at Musselburgh last week. The selection did well to win that day after taking a strong hold, but again has conditions in his favour.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 4 No1 MR SEAGULL
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Space Blues colt MR SEAGULL landed some good bets on his first run at Pontefract to touch off an odds-on shot in the final stride. The horse he beat is very well regarded, and with the champ in his saddle he can follow-up, whilst also emphasising the good form of his stable.

Race 5 No1 DYSART ENOS
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Dougie Costello

Seven-year-old mare DYSART ENOS takes on four three-year-old fillies in this distaffers’ novice but age shouldn’t prove a bar to success for the multiple National Hunt scorer. Her impressive sequence of three bumpers and three novice hurdles came to an end when she went handicapping, but on a sole start on Polytrack she troubled the judge in July. The mile and a quarter proved too sharp for her, but she’s got another 400 metres to travel tonight.

Race 6 No2 MARQUIS POMPEO (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: S D Bowen

MARQUIS POMPEO commands respect as his in-form trainer’s only runner at the meeting. The Showcasing colt posted a minor shock when opening his account at Wolverhampton and in this first run in a handicap can show there was no fluke about the victory, and justify the long journey from Middleham.
