CATTERICK BRIDGE

Race 3 No2 BEYOND THE BAR (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

BEYOND THE BAR shaped with a deal of promise when claiming a minor cheque in his introduction at Hamilton from which he has gone forward. The son of Bangkok will be more streetwise and will handle the easy ground, as well as this shorter trip.

Race 5 No4 LANGHOLM
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

Course specialist LANGHOLM agents a new rider in De Sousa who should suit the veteran. After gaining a third triumph here in August the selection hasn’t been disgraced in a couple of AW races at Newcastle. But this is his happy hunting ground, and from his draw two off the rail he should soon be onto the lead.

Race 6 No3 KIRKDALE (Each Way)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

KIRKDALE returns from a short break as a fresh horse, and is fancied to recapture his winning form from last season. He gained that success in the soft and hasn’t had his conditions in a couple of outings this year, being held back for an autumn campaign when he will encounter them.

MUSSELBURGH

Race 3 No1 LYRICAL SONG
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Sean Kirrane

LYRICAL SONG skipped an opportunity last week and it appears to have worked out well for the Lope Y Fernandez colt, who is in calmer waters in a race that’s cut up. His best effort happened here when he had Panthere Noir one place behind and he’s fancied to confirm the placings and open his account.

Race 6 No2 SEA MASTER (Nap)
Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: James Sullivan

SEA MASTER has proved a fine servant to his owners with a string of earning efforts this year. He couldn’t cope with previous winner Cougar here last time but he was up against a well-treated foe, nothing of whose calibre stands in his way this time.

WARWICK

Race 6 No5 HOPELESS DANCER (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Jamie Brace

At a meeting hit hard by lack of runners owing to the fast ground, HOPELESS DANCER is the only bet. He attracted support and ran a fine race in defeat n his Rules debut at Worcester, while Twiston-Davies was in double form at Newton Abbot on Monday. The Dragon Dancer gelding can down the promising Rodders in the colours of his trainer.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 2 No7 MYSTICAL EYE (Each Way)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson

It’s a slight concern that MYSTICAL EYE sports a hood on her first ever run, but the Expert Eye filly looks the part on pedigree and can prove the pick of some interesting newcomers in the colours of Jeff Smith.

Race 4 No3 MARCHOGION
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

MARCHOGION lacks consistency, but when on a going day can be very effective as shown in his victories at Southwell, Newmarket and Chester. He was most impressive on the last named occasion, and while this is a totally different course he’s come out of it well, and is in great form.

Race 5 No6 PORT OF LONDON
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: William Buick

One that jumps off the page is PORT OF LONDON on his handicap debut for a top stable. The selection has improved for a move onto sand with a near miss at Southwell followed by a gritty success over stablemate Military Cross at this course. He also has abundant scope for improvement as the least experienced in the field, and his trainer has added cheek pieces.

Race 6 No10 SLIPPER TIME (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Nicola Currie

SLIPPER TIME finished best of all when third in a better race than this at Newbury and now has a first taste of an artificial surface. A winner at Salisbury last month, he’s not a straightforward ride but has plenty of ability, while he’s worked well on an all-weather surface at home. He is also well drawn.
