TAUNTON

Race 2 No6 GRAND VENDETTA
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Harry Cobden

GRAND VENDETTA is Cobden’s choice from two Ditcheat runners following his promising first effort when second at Chepstow. He faces a more experienced opponent in WANDERING EGO, but has more scope for progression and can open his account.

Race 5 No1 BRAVE KINGDOM (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Harry Cobden

Although he’s spent plenty of time on the sidelines BRAVE KNGDOM has to be of interest in this three miles handicap chase. He needed his only run of the season when pulled up at Newbury and now competes in calmer waters, on his favoured testing ground and on the back of a second breathing operation.

Race 6 No3 STORMING NELSON (Each Way)
Trainer: Sue Gardner – Jockey: Lucy Gardner

STORMING NELSON handles the cut in the ground but is inexperienced over fences. His run at Chepstow last week should have taught him something, and he figures to be happier racing over this slightly longer trip. It would be no surprise to see him finish on the premises.

CARLISLE

Race 1 No12 THORNEYLANDS
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Brian Hughes

THORNEYLANDS shaped with abundant promise when going down by just half a length on his first run in a bumper at Newcastle. He’s taken well to jumping hurdles in practice, and has a good chance of spoiling the party for Lambourn raider LASKO DES OBEAUX.

Race 2 No4 DELLA CASA LUNGA
Trainer: Clive Boultbee-Brooks – Jockey: Richard Patrick

DELLA CASA LUNGA brings the best form from hurdling to the table as a mare taking on three males on her debut over fences. She has the make and shape to do well in this new discipline, and should deliver at the first time of action with FIRST CONFESSION forming the flip side of the exacta.

Race 5 No1 SMART DECISION (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Mr William Easterby

SMART DECISION has good prospects of making this a sixth victory over jumps. The top weight was gameness personified when a rallying second to Brentford Hope on his latest outing at Haydock, and if in the same mood will be hard to beat.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 4 No8 CAPTAIN ROBERT
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: George Wood

From a top Newmarket stable, CAPTAIN ROBERT looks to hold the cards in this stayers’ handicap. He’s competing from 4lb higher after deservedly opening his account at Chelmsford, and can take the spoils at the main expense of SKYCUTTER.

Race 5 No5 CHARLIE’S CHOICE (Nap)
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Taryn Langley

CHARLIE’S CHOICE races off the same mark as when taking away a minor cheque on his latest start and can continue his impressive earning sequence in a race that’s cut up. Hold up tactics will be employed for his mission to prevent EUPATOR from completing a hat-trick
