BRIGHTON

Race 2 No7 FANCY DANCER (Each Way)
Trainer: Ollie Sangster – Jockey: Nicola Currie

At the risk of this being a third run for a mark Dandy Man filly FANCY DANCER is a speculative choice for this 1200 metres maiden. She’s shown hints of ability and is completely unexposed returning in the famous Sangster colours.

Race 5 No1 EMILY REBECCA (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Alec Voikhansky

EMILY REBECCA looks the go-to horse after a pleasing first run back at Lingfield where on handicap debut she chased home Backer Bilk. She was putting in her best work at the finish in a pronounced step up the distance ladder, and if showing she’s effective switched to turf should open her account.

NOTTINGHAM

Race 3 No5 EXPRESSIONLESS
Trainer: Dylan Cunha – Jockey: Ray Dawson

EXPRESSIONLESS spent the entirety of 2024 racing on grass, notching successes over this course and distance and at Yarmouth. He claimed a podium finish on seasonal reappearance at Newbury that should have blown away the cobwebs for another success on terrain that is familiar to him and that he enjoys.

Race 5 No7 ROSE PRICK (Each Way)
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

ROSE PRICK has troubled the judge twice in Listed company and is having her fifth race in as many starts at that level in search of more black type. The No Nay Never mare can handle faster ground as she showed when second in a fillies’ handicap at Ascot last May, and though rarely attracting market support can outrun her price under the champion jockey.

Race 7 No5 DOUBLE RED (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Trevor Whelan

DOUBLE RED made his first visit to this course a winning one a fortnight ago and could have turned a corner following that bottom tier triumph. The grey displayed a good attitude and has a great chance to follow-up in a slightly warmer race.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 1 No1 CROWN’S LADY (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

Showcasing filly CROWN’S LADY made a bright start for Ed Bethell even though denied at Beverley. Backed as if defeat was out of the question, she was always fighting a losing battle in her bid to overhaul 25-1 outsider Two B Tanned. That said, the first two has it between them and the grey can make light of the 12lb she has to concede to Boujee Gold.

Race 2 No6 PINA SONATA
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Daniel Muscutt

PINA SONATA was an 80-1 shot when troubling the judge on her only outing at Newmarket last autumn. The race went to the highly regarded Verse Of Love, while my selection was green and experienced a chequered passage, leaving the distinct impression she would have gone close if knowing what to do. She steps up to an extended mile today, with plenty of confidence behind her.
