SEDGEFIELD

Race 1 No5 MR ESCOBAR
Trainer: Willie Mullins – Jockey: Brian Hayes

Mullins should be on target with his first ever runner at this track, MR ESCOBAR. The selection is a highly strung individual, but ran well in defeat when last seen in September and has a better chance at getting the trip on an easy track, as Sedgefield certainly is.

Race 3 No2 MUTUAL RESPECT
Trainer: Billy Aprahamian – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

MUTUAL RESPECT has looked an improved performer this season and finds himself on the brink of completing a fine hat-trick. He’s shown with those deliveries at Worcester and Bangor that he knows how to win, and has a great chance of making this a fourth success in only eight outings over fences for his in-form handler.

Race 5 No2 PEP TALKING (Nap)
Trainer: Billy Aprahamian – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

A horse that regularly attracts market support, PEP TALKING got the job done in determined style at Uttoxeter on a second outing for his trainer. There’s still something of a rawness to the six-year-old, but he jumps and travels well, and should prove effective on this easy but undulating course.

Race 6 No8 SWEETLIKECHOCOLATE
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Finn Lambert

SWEETLIKECHOCOLATE draws my eye as her trainer’s only runner at the meeting. The Yeats mare troubled the judge on her only run in a point and has worked encouragingly ahead of this first outing under Rules.

SOUTHWELL

Race 3 No5 SOLAR SYSTEM (Nap)
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Callum Pritchard

SOLAR SYSTEM landed some good bets at Warwick last week and escapes a penalty to make him an alluring proposition and the best bet on this card. He’s taken those exertions in his stride, and should have more to offer.

Race 4 No8 SERGEANT FURY
Trainer: Harry Derham – Jockey: Paul O’Brien

Several bring form to the table on a switch to hurdling including SERGEANT FURY, who won his only point in Ireland, and though third of four on Rules debut at Worcester went down by only two lengths in a blanket finish to that bumper.

Race 7 a No1 LUNAR CONTACT
Trainer: Tom Ellis – Jockey: Callum Pritchard

LUNAR CONTACT was impressive when scoring over fences at Fakenham last week to make it two from two at that Norfolk venue. He escapes a penalty, and if bringing the same A-game to post in this switch to hurdles should have little difficulty completing a hat-trick.
