LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No3 STARLIGHT SAMI (Nap)

Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: Cieren Fallon

STARLIGHT SAMI troubled the judge on both starts over 1200 metres, latterly chasing home a smart foe in Amorim at Windsor. He’s worked well on an artificial surface at home, and with the rail to assist can deservedly open his account.

Race 5 No10 ZOULU WARRIOR

Trainer: Heather Main – Jockey: Luke Morris

ZOULU WARRIOR brings good recent form to the table and has the look of a horse that’s ready to win. On a first visit to Lingfield he can better a near miss at Wolverhampton last time, where after surrendering the lead he fought back. It’s hard to go from gate to wire here, but hopefully kicking off the bend can prove a winning manoeuvre.

HEREFORD

Race 1 No1 MARSIAC (Nap)

Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

MARSIAC built on a promising first outing under Rules at Uttoxeter to open his account in a maiden hurdle at Aintree where he stayed on in determined fashion to clinch victory over Big Ticket. The second did the form no harm when filling the same position in a better race at Ascot, making the penalised selection the best bet on this card.

Race 4 No8 KEEP ON COBBLING

Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

KEEP ON COBBLING hails from a stable running into form and should give a good account from his revised mark. He made a winning return at Sedgefield despite taking a walk in the market, and having had a good blow afterwards is sure to be fitter. He’s a nice prospect who should do well through the winter in the colours of Sir John Timpson.

Race 7 No10 WESTERN CROSS (Each Way)

Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Sean Houlihan

Several of the top stables are represented in the concluding bumper, in which WESTERN CROSS can come out on top in a clash with NOT NOW, SASSIPANTS and INDULTO ROUGE. He shaped well against a heavily backed winner on Rules debut at Worcester, holding every chance before getting tired on the run in. He should have benefitted from that and get into the shake-up.

SOUTHWELL

Race 3 No6 MOAB

Trainer: Henrietta Knight – Jockey: Robbie Dunne

MOAB ran well in defeat on his first jumps run of 2025 at Fontwell, having been successful on the all-weather prior to that. Dunne is an interesting booking for the Camelot gelding, who looks weighted to make a bold bid at going one better.

Race 4 No6 PRECIOUS METAL (Nap)

Trainer: Henrietta Knight – Jockey: Lily Pinchin

Knight has at least as good a chance of hitting the target with PRECIOUS METAL, who has been campaigned like a good horse and should be all the better for an earning first run over hurdles at Stratford. Last season he won a Listed bumper at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day, making him a good thing if able to transfer the same level of form to jumping.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3 No7 SARAB STAR (Nap)

Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Edward Greatrex

The best race of the night can fall to SARAB STAR, whose connections are anxious to recoup some of the 200,000 guineas paid for him at the Sales. The Zoustar colt was having only a second run on sand when claimed in the last strides by Chancellor at Kempton. This is his first visit to Dunstall Park, but the left-handed track and Tapeta surface shouldn’t be a problem to him.

Race 5 No5 RITAAL

Trainer: Owen Burrows – Jockey: Saffie Osborne

Showcasing filly RITAAL was green on her first run at this track when proving no match for Albaydaa. Nevertheless, she stayed on for a minor cheque, and will be more streetwise for her clash with ZOOELLA.

Race 8 No4 SPECIAL ACCLAIM (Each Way)

Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass

SPECIAL ACCLAIM comes back from a 250 day lay off having had more on front of him than behind on his only career start at Chelmsford in March. The grey was too green to do himself justice but has a good pedigree to bring to the table in sprints. He has been working nicely to suggest he should earn in this weak novice.
