BEVERLEY
Race 3 No7 VINCE LE PRINCE (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman
Several can win this but VINCE LE PRINCE looks the most interesting providing he can circumnavigate the widest draw on this turning 1400 metres. Only just denied by Blazing Son at Carlisle on his latest start, he is a winner on good form and won’t mind it if the going firms up.
Race 7 No6 LADY OF TIME (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman
LADY OF TIME put in a career-best when second to Fortnum as a 33-1 roughie at Nottingham last week. The step up to a mile and a quarter suited the Test filly who now needs to show that she can act on a faster surface.
NEWTON ABBOT
Race 1 No5 GREYSTOKE (Each Way)
Trainer: Jimmy Frost – Jockey: Miss Olive Nicholls
GREYSTOKE is only an occasional visitor to the track these days, and aged six has very few miles on his racing clock while retaining a fair amount of his old ability. Whilst finishing just out of the money in each of the three races he’s contested for his current trainer it would not be a surprise to see him rediscover some of his very good Flat form as he’s become quite well handicapped.
Race 3 No2 RAMENSKY (Nap)
Trainer: Emma Lavelle – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy
Huelgoat has the best form but could prove a false favourite for this novice hurdle and I’m happy to take him on with RAMENSKY, who impressed with a clear-cut Hereford success on just a second outing under Rules. A winner on the all-weather and on grass on the Flat, he is lightly raced and could have a lot more to offer.
BRIGHTON
Race 2 No5 MON ETOILE (Each Way)
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa
MON ETOILE has had a few chances, but the daughter of Magna Grecia may benefit from having De Sousa in the saddle for the first time. The Brazilian is hungry for winners and has excelled on the horses he’s ridden for the Johnstons this season. It’s a long way for the selection to come from North Yorkshire.
Race 3 No3 FELICITY (Nap)
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand
Blue Point filly FELICITY can be the latest winner for emergent owners Wathnan Racing. She was narrowly denied over five furlongs at Bath and should benefit racing over 1200 metres here, with the addition of a tongue tie further increasing confidence that she can open her account.
NEWBURY
Race 2 No12 MERCUTIA (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: David Probert
There’s not much of MERCUTIA, but the Sergei Prokofiev filly has shown promise in her build-up to this introduction, and is a speculative suggestion in a wide-open restricted novice. JENNIFER WREN is another that’s been mentioned in dispatches, and one to note in the betting.
Race 4 No4 GRAHAM (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Sean Levey
Home-bred four-year-old GRAHAM was a dual scorer last summer including over a mile and a quarter at this track on his final start of the season. Since coming back he’s claimed a couple of cheques, but proved costly when heavily supported at Nottingham. He’s back at his optimum trip today, and can take the spoils in the famous Howard de Walden silks.
Race 7 No2 STRIKE
Trainer: Jonny Portman – Jockey: Olivia Tubb
STRIKE is performing consistently well, and although up against a couple of recent winners is a strong fancy to take care of business in this Class5 sprint. The grey’s defeat of On Edge at Windsor has worked out, while he saw out his race well when third at Salisbury on ground that will be similar to that he encounters this evening.
