LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No2 TWISTED TIARA
Trainer: Rod Millman – Jockey: David Probert

Penalised juveniles infrequently win under that added burden but TWISTED TIARA can prove an exception to the rule. The Ribchester filly made great strides from her debut to score with plenty up her sleeve. She just needs to show that she’s as good on the all-weather, with Probert in the saddle for the third time in as many starts.

Race 3 No6 WOODHAY WHISPER (Nap)
Trainer: Tom Ward – Jockey: Tom Marquand

WOODHAY WHISPER appeals as the type to do better now her attention has been turned to handicaps. Her campaign has so far been exclusive to Windsor, but having troubled the judge on two of her three starts she figures to do well on the switch to Polytrack.

Race 7 No3 HOORNBLOWER
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: Ray Dawson

Having looked a lost cause last season, HOORNBLOWER returned to power home over today’s course and distance last month. He’s starting to discover the ability his trainer has always known is there, and under the same rider can follow up.

MUSSELBURGH

Race 1 No5 CHINESE SPIRIT
Trainer: Linda Perratt – Jockey: Charlie Maggs

CHINESE SPIRIT gives away three years-plus in age to his five opponents but is more than capable of making this a belated first win of the season. The grey needs to be forgiven his howler here at the start of the month, but having been given plenty of time to recover from that blip can now bounce back.

Race 6 ACHNAMARA (Nap)
Trainer: Phil Kirby – Jockey: Joe Fanning

ACHNAMARA ended a losing run going back to the autumn of 2022 when taking out a bottom-grade handicap in soft ground at Catterick. It was his first success for Kirby, and with rain about in this part of Scotland, he could again have underfoot conditions to suit.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3 No11 ASSEMBLED (Each Way)
Trainer: Mark Rimell – Jockey: Rob Hornby

ASSEMBLED looked to be coming to the boil when taking away a minor cheque on his second start of the year at Kempton. Back at the scene of his latest triumph last November, he can make another step forward and needs respecting.

Race 4 No5 ANNA OF SAXONY (Each Way)
Trainer: Stuart Kittow – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

ANNA OF SAXONY brings an unexposed profile to the table and could progress to get into the shake-up in this open affair. The grey attracted plenty of support when third to Mujid at Ffos Las, while it’s interesting that Rossa Ryan, who was on board that day, is happy to be back in her saddle.
