PONTEFRACT

Race 1 No4 DANDY DEVIL (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Fahey – Jockey: Oisin Orr

Fahey unleashed a speedy type when DANDY DEVIL floored a subsequent winner on his Newcastle introduction. The son of recently deceased Dandy Man should take this step up to six furlongs in his stride and remain unbeaten, and at the main expense of Federal Envoy.

Race 4 No5 WEN MOON (Each Way)
Trainer: Ben Haslam – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan

WEN MOON was a smart two-year-old and progressed to score first time out last year whilst also being on the mark in the autumn of that season at York. With his ability to go well fresh off a break, he can make it a second success at Pontefract Park from only three visits to the course.

LUDLOW

Race 2 No1 EASY PEASY
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville

Henderson needs a winner or two to help boost stable morale ahead of the Randox Health Grand National meeting next week. A first blank Cheltenham since 2004 has been followed by further problems to Constitution Hill who is now unlikely to have a final run of the season at Punchestown. His runner here EASY PEASY impressed on her hurdling bow at Exeter after winning two of three starts in bumpers. She’s opposed by a dangerous-looking foe in Get Sky High but can outgun that opponent on the way to better things.

Race 3 No4 TEDLEY (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

TEDLEY was out of his depth in a red hot handicap at Sandown but ran well to a point. The Wincanton winner returns to calmer waters for this Class4 handicap and although opposed by a progressive type in El Saviour, can upset that short-priced favourite.

Race 6 No2 BEFORE MIDNIGHT (Nap)
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Mr Ben Sutton

Leicester scorer Iskandar Pecos needs respecting in the concluding hunters’ chase but might have to give best to BEFORE MIDNIGHT, who was a smart handicap chaser with his previous trainer and should outclass the field if anything like as good.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 2 No4 RUST E BOY
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

RUST E BOY was behind Bitcoin Profit last time but from an unchanged mark and with Rossa Ryan in the saddle has a good chance of turning the tables, especially as he should be suited by this longer trip.

Race 3 No7 HAMPDEN (Each Way)
Trainer: Tom Ward – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

King’s Coronation will surely improve on a promising first offering when just out of the money here. He’s bred to appreciate a step up on the distance ladder but HAMPDEN is already proven at the trip, while his form from last season is the best on offer. The gelded son of Night Of Thunder showed he likes Tapeta when second in a back end novice over this course and distance, having shown promise on both previous starts at Goodwood.

Race 4 No6 SAY YOU’LL NEVER (Nap)
Trainer: Marco Botti – Jockey: Neil Callan

Oasis Dream filly SAY YOU’LL NEVER chased home a subsequent winner in Shallow at Chelmsford and appears to have been given every chance by the assessor off 62 on this switch to handicaps. She is also perfectly drawn to enjoy the run of things in a race round two bends.

Race 6 No4 TAMARIS
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Aidan Keeley

Lightly-raced TAMARIS improved from race to race last season and was deserving of a first success at Kempton in January, which followed a couple of handicap chase wins. His subsequent transfer to the James Owen yard should do him no harm whatsoever, and he has every chance of following-up and making this a fourth triumph since undergoing a breathing operation last summer.
