BEVERLEY

Race 4 No9 VARIETY ISLAND
Trainer: Simon Whitaker – Jockey: Phil Dennis

The first few in the betting for this sprint handicap have high draws and VARIETY ISLAND can prove the pick. The five-year-old put in a solid effort to be narrowly denied at Pontefract when the subject of market support. His trainer equips him with a visor for the first time which could help enable him to get back to winning ways.

NOTTINGHAM

Race 4 No9 CARIBBEAN WIND (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

CARIBBEAN WIND has earned on both career starts, Showing that she’s equally as effective on turf as on the all-weather. She’s developed into a strapping individual, while the way she’s been working strongly suggests she will make no mistake and open her account.

Race 6 No2 TIGER BEETLE (Each Way)
Trainer: Mark Rimell – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

TIGER BEETLE has consistently frustrated but if anywhere near his paper price demands a small win and place bet in a race that’s cut up. He’s far from straightforward but may be worth another chance as he has the ability to win a race of this nature.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 1 No8 GRECIAN GOD
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: George Bass

Although his wide draw is of concern, GRECIAN GOD showed with an earning run on his first outing in handicap company that he’s a winner waiting to happen in this company. That improved display happened here, with capable apprentice Bass in his saddle for the first time. It’s probably an advantage to the selection that Bass again gets the call-up for him.

Race 5 No5 BEELEY (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

BEELEY takes a considerable class drop after finishing just out of the money when last week in the Cheshire Oaks in May. The daughter of Camelot has her idiosyncrasies but from a plum draw ought to be way too good for these rivals.

Race 6 No3 SURREY BELLE (Each Way)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Pound for pound SURREY BELLE ought to have the whip hand on her foes in this stayers’ handicap. The Golden Horn filly hasn’t run here in a year while her stable is going through a tricky patch, but if bouncing back from a heavy defeat last time she looks sure to be in the shake-up.
