NEWMARKET

Race 2 No7 NIGHTWALKER
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

NIGHTWALKER is the latest remnant of Sir Michael Stoute’s final string to race for a new trainer. The grey son of Frankel ran well on each of his three outings as a two-year-old, scoring at Yarmouth in September and finishing a creditable third in the Group 3 Autumn Stakes at this course the following month. He’s an interesting prospect, who should enjoy stepping up to nine furlongs.

Race 3 BET365 EARL OF SEFTON STAKES (Group 3)

No2 AMBIENTE FRIENDLY (Nap)
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Hector Crounch

AMBIENTE FRIENDLY can become the latest horse to advertise the skill of Owen by scoring on a first outing for the trainer. Last season’s Derby runner-up didn’t enjoy the rub of the green after Epsom and was probably at his best when taking out the Lingfield Derby Trial in May. His third in the Irish Derby was solid enough, but he then finished down the field in the Juddmonte at York and last of five in the Group 2 Prix Neil at Longchamp. All the vibes from Newmarket suggest he’s in good order for this seasonal return against the 2024 winner Ottoman Fleet.

Race 4 LANWADES STUD NELL GWYN STAKES (Group 3)

No 9 VERSE OF LOVE
TRAINER: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: William Buick

VERSE OF LOVE impressively floored her stablemate Wild Angel on her only start at this course in the autumn. She has been backed at fancy prices for the 1,000 Guineas and can enhance her Classic prospects. REMAAT represents a trainer whose three-year-olds have made an encouraging start to the campaign and can get into the shake-up along with NARDRA, who greatly impressed when delivering on her only start at Haydock.

Race 5 No8 ZGHARTA
Trainer: Andrew Balding- Jockey: Hollie Doyle

ZHHARTA made a pleasing debut here in October when third to Sea Poetry. Like many Ghaiyyaths she is a free going individual, but if employing forcing tactics this very fit individual should prove hard to peg back.

SOUTHWELL

Race 2 No1 PEP TALKING (Nap)
Trainer: Billy Aprahamian – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

PEP TALKING has formed the lynchpin of Aprahamian’s season with his three successes in handicap chases. He’s established a good rapport with Sheehan, who was on board when the gelding scored at Hereford wearing first time cheek pieces. The Nap is up in the weights, but should enjoy this course as two of those triumphs have happened going left-handed.

Race 4 No9 AAZZA
Trainer: Paul Robson – Jockey: Craig Nichol

AAZZA looked good value for his Wetherby success for which he is now 5lb higher. It was only a fifth outing since his move to Robson and he should make a bold fist of following-up with the consistent PIPERS CROSS his main barrier to another triumph.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 5 No10 SPLIT SILK (Each Way)
Trainer, Ollie Sangster – Jockey: Trevor Whelan

SPLIT SILK is a well related filly who although not proving any great shakes in her three outings as a juvenile could turn up a different entity now in a handicap, and having had a winter to strengthen up and mature under her belt.

Race 7 No11 LIOSA (Each Way)
Trainer: Stuart Kittow – Jockey: Billy Loughnane

LIOSA is a three times AW scorer whose two successes last autumn suggest she is improving as he gets older. The five-year-old has run well when coming back from a break in the past, and Loughnane is a solid jockey booking for him.
