LEICESTER

Race 2 No12 ROMOTOSO
Trainer: William Knight – Jockey: Marco Ghiani

A return to the grass should be in favour of ROMOTOSO whose best effort came at Wndsor when she was beaten half a length by Polyxena. The pair finished well clear of the remainder on that occasion, and while the selection then proved disappointing at Southwell she will be happier now back at 1200 metres.

Race 5 No5 TIRIAC (Each Way)
Trainer: Paul Midgley – Jockey: O McSweeney

The enigmatic TIRIAC is always a risky proposition but granted his undoubted talent and liking for some cut in the ground he has to be of interest in this wide open sprint in which SERGEANT DENNIS is worth a saver.

Race 7 No13 ENGLISH TIME (Nap)
Trainer: Harry Charlton – Jockey: Lewis Edmunds

Hello Youmzain colt ENGLISH TIME justified strong support to open his account at Ffos Las when taking full advantage of a class drop. He only had to be shaken up to clinch victory and might have been let in lightly for this first handicap assignment.

Race 8 No13 GRINDLETON (Each Way)
Trainer: Daniel Kubler – Jockey: Alec Voikhansky

GRINDLETON has shown himself to be a very consistent earner on grass with pay days of sorts on each of his seven starts. He’s been edging closer to a first career success, highlighted by a staying on effort to chase home Thunder Goddess at Pontefract last month. In the colours of Gary Middlebrook he is a strong win and place prospect today.

SOUTHWELL

Race 3 No2 THELASTHIGHKING (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Toby McCain-Mitchell

On his return from another lengthy absence THELASTHIGHKING is an interesting roughie. The ten-year-old has had his share of training issues but equally has few miles on his racing clock. He’s run well when fresh in the past, and has a very competent amateur doing the steering.

Race 5 No5 L’AMANDINE (Nap)
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

L’AMANDINE downed a well regarded odds on foe when opening her account at Fakenham in the spring and has done well for her summer break. The Maxios filly faces a beatable opponent in what looks a two horse affair, and is one of the best bets of the day.

Race 7 No1 TRIGGER THE LIGHT (Each Way)
Trainer: Sara Bradstock – Jockey: Miss Lily Bradstock

Former pointer TRIGGER THE LIGHT travelled well for a long way before weakening on ground that was quicker than ideal at Uttoxeter. It was a second podium finish in as many starts over hurdles for the six-year-old who can outperform his price in this stayers’ handicap hurdle.

HEREFORD

Race 5 No2 MIRACLES DO HAPPEN (Nap)
Trainer: Billy Aprahamian- Jockey: Sam Twistn- Davies

MIRACLES DO HAPPEN popped up unexpectedly at Warwick but has taken those exertions well, to the extent of which that she can follow up from her revised mark in this mares’ handicap hurdle. It was only a third outing out of her trainer’s Northamptonshire yard, and represented a big step forward.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 1 No6 BLUE JAY WAY (Each Way)
Trainer: John Riches – Jockey: Ethan Tindall

History can repeat itself with BLUE JAY WAY repeating his 14-1 triumph in the same race 12 months ago. The Sixties Icon gelding is carded to start at similarly long odds, and though having a bit to find on recent efforts might have benefitted from a break, while his trainer adds a first time hood.

Race 4 No8 BELLA ARGENTINA (Nap)
Trainer: Harry Charlton – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

The Nap of the evening entertainment, BELLA ARGENTINA looks to have the X factor to take out this novice around a lap of Dunstall Park. The daughter of Kingman represents very strong form after giving Wid plenty to think about at Carlisle where the pair dominated, and she’s strongly fancied to go one better.
