HEREFORD

Race 1 No8 RACE TO BASE (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

RACE TO BASE brings winning form from this course to the table for a race he can dominate. He attracted support when returning for his hurdling debut, and though unable to cut the mustard the form has been endorsed. He should make no mistake in a weakly contested affair.

Race 6 No6 ONE COOL DREAMER (Each Way)
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

With few miles on his racing clock jumping wise, ONE COOL DREAMER can make a splash on this first run in handicap company. He earned on both jumps starts in the summer, while following a refreshing break troubled the judge in a Class 2 all weather at Kempton, which has sharpened him up.

HUNTINGDON

Race 6 No1 KINGSTON SUNFLOWER (Nap)
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Fern O’Brien

This is a tough card for punting but KINGSTON SUNFLOWER has a great chance of extending her winning run in the two miles handicap hurdle. The Authorised mare did us a favour when dominating her foes at Ludlow, and if adopting similar forcing tactics can show that she’s still well treated on her form of two years ago, when she landed a hat-trick in the novice hurdle division.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 1 No1 CALVINO (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Harry Cobden

CALVINO is up against an unknown quantity in paper favourite MINELLA MARATHON, but the Taunton bumper winner is fit following a narrow defeat on his Newton Abbot, where for most of the journey he looked like winning. The Nap is in good order and appeals as a value play against his well touted opponent.

Race 3 No2 GIT MAKER
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Joe Anderson

Triple hurdles and chase winner GIT MAKER was only seen three times last season and twice in 2024, suggesting he’s had to contend with training issues. At nine he still has life in his battery, while his trainer is adept at having his handicap chasers ready for their first run back, mirrored by Colonel Harry in The Grand Sefton Chase at Aintree on Saturday.

Race 4 No3 PIPERS CROSS (Each Way)
Trainer: Emma Lavelle – Jockey: Cameron Johnstone

PIPERS CROSS has a habit of getting not the shake up, and while her winning efforts are sporadic she’s fancied to go close on this first visit to Lingfield for a trainer whose early season runners have been forward. The main barrier to success should stem from HARRY JUNIOR, who produced his first piece of form when second at Worcester.
