Race 4 No2 GOODWOOD MOGUL (Nap)
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning – Jockey: William Buick

In the colours of local owners GOODWOOD MOGUL can take out this novice for future stayers. The Mohaather gelding has upped his game to earn in both starts this season and gave a long odds on shot plenty to think about at Pontefract last time. He is going to be even better over today’s mile and a quarter.

Race 6 No8 DANCING TIGER
Trainer: Roger Teal – Jockey: Marco Ghiani

DANCING TIGER has been slow on the uptake, but having put in a career best when second to a well supported favourite at Windsor last time is now in a position to strike for his lucky owners, who are also responsible for the high class Dancing Gemini.

CHEPSTOW

Race 1 No6 BRECON BEACONS
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Rose Dawes

BRECON BEACONS returns from a mid season break, having been given some time to grow into her frame and mature. She’s been overlooked in the betting for this first run in a handicap, and on her trainer’s wedding today can give Channon something to cheer about apart from his nuptials.

Race 2 No3 ZABEEL FLOWER
Trainer: Richard Hughes – Jockey: Finley Marsh

ZABEEL FLOWER made a 2-11 shot fight for the spoils on her debut at Lingfield which is the best form on offer. The Ardad filly only needs to make normal progress on this second outing to open her account.

Race 4 No3 PICKERING CASTLE (Nap)
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Jack Dace

PICKERING CASTLE has proved by being a beaten favourite on three occasions a tad expensive to follow, but as I haven’t tipped him so far I’m happy to row in on him on what could be D-Day. Both his near misses at Lingfield give him a good chance of scoring today, while he might have been given a bit too much to do last time.

SOUTHWELL

Race 2 No7 CODIAK (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

CODIAK ran in snatches when beaten by Chico Magnifica at Hamilton over today’s trip and now has a pair of cheek pieces added. He’s in an open heat, but that from repeated give him a good chance to go one better while he’s worked well on an AW surface at home.

Race 3 No2 TANJEN
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Sean Kirrane

TANJEN has been a busy operator through the summer and deserves to add to sole triumph on this Tapeta surface at Newcastle. It’s interesting that she’s back on it for just the second time in her career, and carrying colours that have been in the winners’ enclosure recently.

Race 4 No7 EPIVADROS
Trainer: Karen Scott – Jockey: Connor Beasley

At the same time at which she peaked in the 2024 campaign, EPIVADROS can make this a belated first win this season. She signalled when second at Ayr last month that she’s on the cusp of a return to winning ways, while this is only her second run on sand, leaving her with scope for improvement as an all-weather horse.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 1 No5 GILT EDGE
Trainer: Christopher Mason – Jockey: Elizabeth Gale

GILT EDGE was returning from a nine month absence when troubling the judge at Chepstow and now makes a first visit to Dunstall Park in the space of six years. The veteran has retained plenty of her old ability and is well drawn to obtain a stalking position in this race over 1400 metres.

Race 2 No8 SYDNEY ROCK (Nap)
Trainer: Oliver Cole – Jockey: Clifford Lee

SYDNEY ROCK is a very well related individual who was very easy to back before chasing home Calendar Girl on her introduction at Newbury. She has a good slot in the gate for this race around a lap of the track, and can open her account on the way to better things.

Race 7 No6 THIS TIME MAYBE
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: George Bass

THIS TIME MAYBE has been a good servant to his connections since switching stables last year. He’s put in several good earning efforts at this course including a success in the spring, while he more recently scored at Lingfield. He has formed a good understanding with Bass, and the combination are the ones to beat in this finale.
