TAUNTON

Race 2 No9 POURQUOI PAS PAPA (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Harry Cobden

Having skipped his intended race at Sandown on Saturday, this looks a more straightforward assignment for POURQUOI PAS PAPA, who on Rules debut finished second in a better race than this. He had solid form in France, and should open his account on the way to better things.

Race 4 No2 IRISH CHORUS
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

Having looked unlucky not to score on both outings over fences, IRISH CHORUS can keep up the good work by taking out this novices’ handicap chase. She’s 2lb higher than for her Leicester success, which looks far from insurmountable.

Race 5 No4 CELTIC ART
Trainer: Jeremy Scott – Jockey: Lorcan Williams

CELTIC ART did us a very good turn when scoring at 12-1 here a month ago. With his liking for the track and from a stable in a good vein of form he can follow up, even though this looks a slightly rougher assignment.

Race 7 No6 BLUENOSE BELLE
Trainer: Richard Phillips – Jockey: Finn Lambert

BLUENOSE BELLE has won two of her last three to show that two miles is her optimum distance. She was returning from a break when second at Ludlow time, and having had a good blow should come on for it and return to winning ways.

CHELMSFORD CITY

Race 1 No8 ALLEGRINO (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson

ALLEGRINO took a big step up from her first run when beaten in a tight finish at Kempton. The Oasis Dream filly hails from a stable doing well with its AW runners and if making any progression from that should open her account.

Race 6 No2 CHAMPAGNE POWDER
Trainer: Oliver Cole – Jockey: Cieren Fallon

In spite of running freely, CHAMPAGNE POWDER opened his account in a novice over 1400 metres last time. The blinkered selection finds himself in a small field in which he could again dominate and just needs to put in a controlled display to follow up over this slightly longer trip.

Race 7 No4 NOSS MAYO
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Luke Morris

NOSS MAYO has a visor added after failing to get the trip at Newcastle last time. The Cityscape filly acts on Polytrack and can make the long trip from Middleham well worthwhile by taking out the nightcap.
