FONTWELL PARK

Race 3 No2 PIPERS CROSS (Nap)
Trainer: Emma Lavelle – Jockey: Cameron Johnstone-Baker

PIPERS CROSS has earned. The last three of four races since joining Lavelle, though on the latest occasion taking a long time to get going. The mare is proven on quicker ground, and should enjoy this first visit to the unique figure-of-eight track.

Race 4 No4 OUR DYLAN
Trainer: Kayley Woollacott – Jockey: Mr Joshua Newman

Top point rider Newman will almost certainly get a good spin out of the ultra consistent OUR DYLAN who though up 2lb for getting beaten at Taunton four weeks ago is one of the few in the field that is guaranteed to put in another earning run and is entitled to the greatest respect.

WINCANTON

Race 3 No4 SIAM PARK
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

SIAM PARK has the look of an under achiever after failing to live up to his early good reputation. However there was a glimmer of light to come out of his latest offering on a first run over fences at Taunton. His second placing there was more encouraging, and augers well for his chances against hat-trick seeking Dunstall Rambler.

Race 5 No4 SALADINS SON (Nap)
Trainer: Anthony Honeyball – Jockey: Ben Godfrey

On just a second outing over fences SALADINS SON put in an assured round of jumping to score over the course and distance last month. There’s very little between top weight and bottom in a compressed affair, but he is the one with the greatest scope for progression and can win again as the best bet on the card.

Race 6 No9 DRASH ON RUBY (Each Way)
Trainer: Jeremy Scott – Jockey: Rex Dingle

DRASH ON RUBY will never reach the heights of her relative Dashel Drasher, but the super consistent mare deserves a change of luck which can happen in this long distance handicap hurdle. She stayed on well to claim another minor cheque at Taunton last week, and holds strong claims to gone better as long as this doesn’t come too soon.

NEWCASTLE

Race 6 No1 NORTHERN CRACKSMAN (Nap)
Trainer: Mike Appleby – Jockey: Hollie Doyle

NORTHERN CRACKSMAN is operating from an 11lb higher mark than when successful here in January and has subsequently changed stables. He put in a solid enough first run for Appleby when second at Wolverhampton and now has his tongue died down in addition to his usual blinkers.

Race 7 No6 ARLINGTON
Trainer: BryanSmart – Jockey: Warren Fentiman

ARLINGTON knocked on the door on his latest outing and can prove the answer to a tight-knit finale. In a compressed handicap he can stave off the challenge of top weight Raft Up and endorse the good recent form of his stable.
