UK BEST BETS SUNDAY

SANDOWN PARK

Race 6 No6 THE BIG BREAKAWAY (Each Way)
Trainer: Syd Hosie – Jockey: Paddy Hanlon

On a card cut short of runners by the quick ground, THE BIG BREAKAWAY is one to consider in this veterans’ handicap chase. The one time Gold Cup hope has gone five years without a win, but he was placed in a better race than this when last in action at Warwick, and might have benefitted for a change of stable.

Race 7 No1 DROPMEATTHESTATION (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Callum Pritchard

DROPMEOFFATTHESTATION won a point over three miles before moving to the Pauling yard and now races for the first time under Rules, and the first for exactly a year. He’s worked well ahead of this concluding bumper and can prove more than a match for the hooded SAINT INVICTUS.

FFOS LAS

Race 1 No1 BOBBY’S NELSON
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Sean Houlihan

On a return from ten months off, BOBBY’S NELSON could represent a value play against Kempton bumper winner OUR BOY STAN. The selection finished second in a point and his only bumper but horses from the Hobbs stable returning from lay offs have been ultra fit which suggests he will be ready.

Race 2 No3 LAZY SUNDAY (Each Way)
Trainer: Richard Mitford-Slade – Jockey: Miss Thomasina Eys

Veteran LAZY SUNDAY gamed a thoroughly deserved only success of last season when outjumping her foes at Bangor in March. She had previously hit the woodwork on three occasions and granted her ability to operate when fresh from a break she can have the whip hand over IMPATIENT.

Race 4 No1 SEETOIT (Nap)
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

SEETOIT has needed time to grown into his frame, suggesting that his select campaign last winter was a stepping stone to better things. In just four outings he showed ability, but in spite of carrying top weight today he has more potential than anything in the field, and can take the spoils.
