GOODWOOD

Race 1 No5 DARKNESS
Trainer: David O’Meara – Jockey: Danny Tudhope

DARKNESS failed to fire when returned to one of his favourite tracks at Epsom on Oaks Day. It was a fourth blank he’d drawn in as many starts this season, but in the belief he’s back on a workable mark, it could be worth backing him as he put in a career-best when fourth in the Golden Mile over this course and distance last August.

Race 3 No7 DOUBLE O ONE (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: David Probert

DOUBLE O ONE can give Channon a belated 31st birthday present by taking the spoils in this seller. Mick Channon had a good record in the contest and his son kept up the good work when saddling the winner 12 months ago. His Showcasing filly spoiled her chance by racing too keenly at Brighton, but is going to relish cutting back to five furlongs.

Race 5 No5 YORKINDNESS (Each Way)
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Joe Fanning

YORKINDNESS has to be respected for a trainer whose handicappers regularly acquit themselves well on this course. It’s a belated first visit for the five-year-old mare, who is the winner of five of her last 12 starts and has the right man on the plate to dictate affairs.

Race 7 No4 HAYMAKER
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Rob Hornby

HAYMAKER has been heavily supported on both outings since undergoing wind surgery. He was pipped at Brighton but made no mistake at Nottingham, looking a more rounded performer than he was last year. He can foil the hat-trick bid of Change Sings.

PERTH

Race 4 No9 PLANNED PARADISE (Each Way)
Trainer: Christian Williams – Jockey: Jack Tudor

PLANNED PARADISE put on his best effort since joining Williams when second to Trincomalee at Fakenham and looks like a horse that is now ‘ready’. Williams excels with horses of this ilk, and recent winners God’s Own Getaway and Fix At All will have to be on their A-game to deny him.

Race 6 No6 NO REGRETS (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Sean Quinlan

NO REGRETS made no mistake on his first outing of the year at Kelso. He’s gone up 4lb for the win but retains the visor that worked so well for him. He’s in great heart, and being by Presenting won’t mind it if the ground gets quicker.
