LEICESTER

Race 3 No1 HOME MADE HERO (Nap)
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

HOME MADE HERO reverts to a right handed track after showing a tendency to jump left on his impressive first run over hurdles at Uttoxeter. He looked good value for the margin of victory, suggesting he can win again under a 7lb penalty as long as he doesn’t give away too much ground at the obstacles.

Race 4 No3 WOODLAND PARK
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Sean Bowen

WOODLAND PARK was breathing down the necks of the two horses that beat him on his return to action at Carlisle from which he has benefitted fitness wise. The bumper and novice hurdle winner can cause problems for paper favourite AKIMOS in a competitive heat.

Race 5 No5 SMART DECISION
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Jonjo O’Neill Jr

SMART DECISION is a three times hurdles winner who gave a good account on his first run back at Wetherby when beaten just a length and a half by the winner. If progressing from that pleasing effort he can take out this novices hurdle.

CARLISLE

Race 3 No12 THE BURREN MAN (Nap)
Trainer: Harry Derham – Jockey: Brendan Powell

THE BURREN MAN finished second in his only point before being sourced to join this top stable and has been well prepared for his first run under Rules. With a tongue tie added he can make a winning start to his career in the UK.

Race 5 No3 DOYEN STAR (Each Way)
Trainer: Evan Williams – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

It will be a fine training feat if Williams can successfully bring DOYEN STAR back from a more than 700 day lay off. The selection won a point and three novice hurdles before pulling up on his only start over regulation fences. He’s not been seen since Christmas two years ago, but aged only seven he can show with an earning run that he still has a future.
