SOUTHWELL

Race 1 No1 CAHER ROES DEN
Trainer: Ben Brookhouse – Jockey: Jack Quinlan

CAHER ROES DEN was a £110,00 purchase after scoring between the flags in the spring and hails from a stable that does well with his ilk. His trainer appears to have found a very good opportunity for him on this first run under Rules.

Race 2 No9 THE SECRET PEARL
Trainer: Alex Hales – Jockey: Harry Bannister

THE SECRET PEARL carried on from where she left off at the end of her pointing career with a near miss on Rules debut at Warwick. A 22-1 no-hoper on that occasion, she has the pace to make sure paper favourite By The Grace doesn’t have things all his own way, and can open her account.

Race 5 No4 SARSONS RISK (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Brookhouse – Jockey: Eddie Edge

From the same stable as Caher Roes Den, SARSONS RISK is lightly-raced over hurdles and could have more to offer. He’s been ambitiously campaigned so far, but this winnable handicap hurdle looks the right level for this former very smart Flat performer to come good.

LEICESTER

Race 5 No1 BALLYCAMUS (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel-Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

BALLYCAMUS makes considerable appeal on this switch to fences for a stable amongst the winners. The six-year-old put in a willing effort when second to Benign Dictator at Warwick, and though raised 2lb has schooled beautifully over fences and is ready to embark on the new discipline straight into handicap company.
