FFOS LAS

Race 2 No5 WONDROUS LIGHT

Trainer: Jonny Portman – Jockey: Rob Hornby

Earthlight filly WONDROUS LIGHT sprang a 14-1 surprise at Lingfield for which he’s 4lb higher. The grey saw out the mile and a half well to become another winner for his in form stable, and he floats my boat as the likely winner of this.

Race 3 No2 SONG BROCADE (Nap)

Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Hector Crouch

SONG BROCADE found only one to beat her at Lingfield which was a step up on her first start. The Study Of Man filly stayed on well to the line and is fancied to go be better at the expense of Medway Queen.

UTTOXETER

Race 2 No2 COCO MADEMOISELLE (Nap)

Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton

The featured Summer Cup can go to COCO MADEMOISELLE for whom this has been a target since her course success over a slightly shorter trip last time. TheDoyen mare races as if she wants to go further, and can make this the clinching leg of a fine hat-trick.

Race 5 No12 ZORAN (Each Way)

Trainer: Emma Lavelle – Jockey: Harry Cobden

ZORAN has limited experience over hurdles but aside from his failure to complete at Stratford last time has regularly finished in the money. He very well handicapped on his Flat form, and is likely to be given a confident ride from the front by Cobden.

CARTMEL

Race 4 No6 COME ON THE LADS (Nap)

Traner: Gavin Cromwell – Jockey: C Stone-Walsh

The one that jumps off the page in an interesting heat is COME ON THE LADS. While knocking on the door in his hurdling races the Nap has good form on the level, and his trainer is a dab hand at plundering our smaller tracks. He moves into the handicap arena here with plenty of stable confidence behind him.

Race 6 No3 PILGRIM’S KING

Trainer: Mickey Bowen – Jockey: Shane Fenelon

PILGRIM’S KING would have finished closer but for getting hampered by a faller on his latest start at this course. If getting the longer trip today he can be a factor, and he races as though he will enjoy stretching out.
