ANTREE

Race 3 No3 TORN AND FRAYED
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

A bad mistake four out put paid to the chances of TORN AND FRAYED in his Chepstow reappearance but for which he might have gone close. It remains an earning run that will have blown away any cobwebs, and the eleven-year-old can prove the one to beat in this veterans’ handicap chase.

Race 4 No5 BIG TICKET
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

The same stable introduce a potentially smart performer to National Hunt in BIG TICKET, who was an impressive winner of his only point run in Ireland. He’s entering the fray at a shorter trip, but the way he’s been working suggests that won’t be a problem. More of a threat is Dan Skelton’s IN THE AGE, whose only defeat came under a penalty at Southwell in February.

Race 5 No6 IMPERIAL SAINT (Nap)
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Sean Houlihan

This Old Roan Chase has thrown up some high class winners and IMPERIAL SAINT could well be another. His record at this course reads 1112, while he scored on reappearance at the corresponding fixture 12 months ago. He has conditions in his favour ground wise, and his stable is amongst the winners. The main threat is probably MASTER CHEWY, who has stacks of ability but managed through jumping errors to throw away a couple of good opportunities last season, and therefore comes with risks attached.

Race 7 No8 LYRICAL CHOICE (Each Way)
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

A value play in the concluding bumper could be LYRICAL CHOICE. The half sister to seven times scorer Riskintheground made a pleasing first foray onto the track when second in a Worcester bumper and at her price is more attractive than paper favourite EDITH PELHAM.

FONTWELL PARK

Race 3 No2 ART DECCO (Nap)
Trainer: Robert Walford – Jockey: Harry Kimber

Theo horses with almost identical profiles can fight out the finish to this long distance handicap chase. Both ART DECCO and LARGY POST were restricted to just three outings last season but they left off with winning performances. Equally, they have few miles on their racing clocks and are open to progression, but ART DECCO had been a prolific scorer in his previous season’s racing, and can have the edge.

Race 8 No5 SAPPINGIRL
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Harry Cobden

Paul Nicholls does well with his bumper runners at this track and SAPPINGIRL is a well related individual for whom market support could prove on the button. The Blue Bresil mare can prevail in the colours of an owner who has some promising novices at Ditcheat.
