FONTWELL PARK

Race 3 No4 DOC McCOY (Nap)
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

DOC McCOY jumped beautifully when conditional ridden at Ffos Las last week to come home unchallenged and escapes a penalty for the win. His trainer’s decision to stick over hurdles with the former point winner is bearing fruit, and he’s strongly fancied to follow up as the best bet on the card.

Race 4 No3 FERET JEETER
Trainer: Anthony Honeyball – Jockey: Chad Bament

Another that should deliver at prohibitive odds is FERET JEETER. The selection returned from a lengthy and enforced absence to score here, and though a lot higher in the weights looks to have turned a corner, as that was much his best while an extended three miles and a furlong will suit him equally as well.

UTTOXETER

Race 3 No1 SERVICE MINIMUM (Nap)
Traner: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton

The professional bet in this mares’ novices’ hurdle is SERVICE MINIMUM, who came home unchallenged at Ludlow to make a winning start over jumps. She had earned in each of her three starts in bumpers and although opposed by a couple of decent types in Fresh As A Daisy and Crystal Spring, should follow-up.

Race 4 No1 MATTERHORN
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Harry Cobden

Four times chase scorer MATTERHORN has faced some stiff tasks in handicaps but showed with a solid run in defeat at Plumpton that he can soon return to winning ways. Since putting in a sequence of successes as a novice he’s not quite lived up to his potential, but this race is definitely within his compass.

KELSO

Race 1 No5 GREEN BONNET
Trainer: Lucinda Russell – Jockey: Patrick Wadge

GREEN BONNET can prove a good starting point for punters in this novices’ hurdle. The Dartmouth mare finished second in her only point at Larkhill when trained by Myles Osborne and can make this first outing under Rules a winning one at the expense of Plumpton scorer Pergamum.

Race 2 No5 AWAY SHE GOES (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Robson – Jockey: Edward Austin

AWAY SHE GOES put in a dominating display to make all here earlier in the month and has further to travel today. The Mahler mare also has to carry a 7lb penalty, but she was showing no sign of stopping, and can stave off the challenge of top weight Spartan Warrior.
