CHEPSTOW

Race 3 No9 DREAMS OF DIAMONDS
Trainer: Peter Bowen – Jockey: Sean Bowen

Militaire will be a tough nut to crack as he’s improved from race to race, but that can also be said about DREAMS OF DIAMONDS, who deserves a change of luck, and is getting a handy weight concession from his seven opponents. He stayed on well at the finish in back to back visits to Ffos Las and should be suited by Chepstow, with its long home straight.

Race 4 No2 BLUE LAS
Trainer: Neil Mulholland – Jockey: Dylan Johnston

BLUE LAS brings very solid form to the table for this mares’ handicap hurdle. She smoothly opened her jumping account at Ffos Las, and when finishing a creditable third in a Grade 2 at Sandown was meeting stronger company than is the case today.

Race 7 No1 DOCTOR BLUE (Nap)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Dylan Johnston

In the same colours, DOCTOR BLUE can boss this bumper. He landed some good bets when scoring on Rules debut at Taunton and although slightly out of his depth in a Listed bumper at Ascot he’s going to find today’s task a lot more straightforward.

MARKET RASEN

Race 2 No2 EL RAYO (Each Way)
Trainer: Billy Aprahamian- Jockey: Bryan Carver

EL RAYO showed promise in a Doncaster bumper, and then on his first run for Aprahamian in a maiden hurdle at Huntingdon. The gigantic gelding was found to be under a cloud after flopping at Newbury but was given a six week break. Several of the trainer’s horses have performed better since having a time out, and he can prove another case in point.

Race 6 No2 LAGONDA (Nap)
Trainer: Venetia Williams – Jockey: Shane Quinlan

LAGONDA has never failed to trouble the judge in five outings this season, latterly when second at Hereford. The first two finished well clear of the third on that occasion, and from a mark just 1lb higher she can regain the winning thread as this does not look a strong contest.
