NEWCASTLE

Race 2 No2 TARBAT NESS
Trainer: John Berry – Jockey: Gina Mangan

Dual purpose horse TARBAT NESS stays every yard of two miles as he showed with a snug success over course and distance last week. The grey has few miles on his racing clock on the AW and even though defying a 5lb higher mark will not be easy, he can show he’s up to the task in hand.

Race 3 No3 DUCHESS (Nap)
Trainer: John Berry – Jockey: Gina Mangan

From the same stable DUCHESS should prove hard to beat in this rider restricted race. The mare proved that her comeback win was no fluke by going close on two subsequent occasions. All her rivals have been out of form and with a similar display she can regain the winning thread.

Race 6 No1 TASEVER
Trainer: P Morris – Jockey: C Horgan

TASEVER seeks a seventh course triumph after picking up a 5lb penalty for his latest delivery last week. He’s taken to confirm his superiority over FRONT GUNNER, and can strike while the iron’s hot.

MUSSELBURGH

Race 1 No8 FANTASY WORLD (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville

FANTASY WORLD is a very smart prospect for jumping who comes here because the going was too testing for his intended first run over jumps at Newbury. This is a classy performer who could easily figure in his trainer’s plans for the Cheltenham Festival, and he should hack up.

Race 6 No3 JUS DE CITRON
Trainer: Harry Derham – Jockey: Paul O’Brien

On a third outing following a breathing operation, JUS DE CITRON can take the spoils. Off a 2lb lower mark he was doing his best work at the finish in third at Newcastle. That’s brought him closer to concert pitch, and he will relish the longer distance today.

Race 7 No6 NATIONAL QUESTION
Trainer: Adam Nicol – Jockey: Joshua Thompson

NATIONAL QUESTION did us a good turn with his Sedgefield success for which a 3lb rise does not seem excessive. He’s won two of his last four, and on a track that will suit him just as much can follow-up.
