YORK

Race 4 No6 DANGER BAY (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

DANGER BAY has twice delivered on a stiff track, opening his account at Hamilton before returning to that venue to score on his handicap debut. This is the New Bay colt’s first attempt at an extended mile and a quarter, but everything about his style of racing indicates he wants it.

Race 5 No5 ALMERAQ
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Jim Crowley

ALMERAQ toyed with his opponents at Ayr, scoring so easily that he was greeted with a 15lb rise in the weights. The Dark Angel colt made a lingering impression on that first run in a handicap, he will enjoy the cut in the ground and looks a horse to follow through the autumn.

Race 6 No7 REVELANCE
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Hector Crouch

Blue Point filly REVELANCE impressed on her handicap bow at Epsom after opening her account in a Salisbury novice. As one of the least exposed runners in this better race she can make the necessary progression from a 6lb higher mark to complete a fine hat-trick

Race 7 No4 BARLEY (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Jake Dickson

With four runner-up finishes in his last six starts BARLEY deserves a change of luck. In the latest in a long losing run at Ripon he looked to have the bases covered, only to be mugged close home. This strong traveller might be happier in this bigger field, has a good apprentice taking 7lb off his back and has a very good draw.

FONTWELL PARK

Race 4 No3 SUN JOY
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Ben Jones

SUN JOY was only an occasional visitor to the track last season but finished second over fences at Sedgefield and is now in calmer waters than when last seen over hurdles. He has few miles on his racing clock, and looks to have been found a very tempting opportunity.

Race 5 No1 MIDNIGHT JEWEL (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Longsdon – Jockey: Lily Pinchin

History can repeat itself with MIDNIGHT JEWEL backing up his success in this race 12 months ago. The top weight is an especially accurate jumper, an asset which kept him in contention until into the business end at Worcester over this trip. Though ultimately beaten into seventh he is more effective on this figure-of-eight course.
